Decat on my 2litre has made it more responsive for both driving hard and economical. So if you drive hard it goes quiker that with a CAT but mpg goes down. But if you drive for economy you get better mpg than with CAT.

From Haynes manual of lies:


Disconnect the vacuum hoses from EGR valve...

Start engine, with cold engine no suction should be felt....

With the engine warm, suction should be felt between engine speeds of 1400 and 3150... and so on


have a fiddle see what happens and report.

It really sucks ass im getting about 18mpg and the norm being around 25-28. Not sure if i can wait till the crimbo break. Keeps your ears to the floor for any working rear callipers for me.
