Hi Frazz

Thanks for the kind offer, nonetheless!

I got a new pump, fitted it, no joy. I think the problem is more sinister. Rack, perhaps. Watch this space.

Thanks

Hi all

I am still looking for a PAS pump ("with a/c" version).

There are two on eBay, but the details are vague and the seller has not supplied the required information.

If anyone has a good one lying around, please let me know!

Thanks
Dave

Brilliant, thank you, Iroll. I've tested the oxygen sensor with a meter and the readings are abnormal. I looked into the Socket 5 thread you linked, I found out my 452 code means the following: anlaßsperre Altavista translates this as: startercloses. Doesn't make much sense to me.. Can anyone con...

It idles no more

Hi all I've come for a spot of advice. The motor has been running quite well for a few months until Thursday. I came to switch it on after work and it immediately coughed and died. Managed to get it home with lots of left-foot braking and the like but it won't idle at all now. I cleaned the idle con...

I agree with Kev.. to be honest, separate tweeters are a bit of a con with factory fitted systems. It's a complicated way of enhancing sound which shouldn't be attempted by people who make engines and doors. If you get a kit with separate woofers and tweeters you'll also have cross over boxes which ...

I got one of these sony heads about a year ago and have never looked back. I was totally fed up with burning CDs all the time, plus the changer started skipping in its old age. Anyway.. £85... unbelievable bargain. The current models have blueface and greentooth and all those things as well. Plus...

WANTED: PAS pump

Hi all

I'm looking for a new PAS pump for my 2.0. I think there were only two definitive versions, with A/C and without A/C... I need 'with'. Does anyone have a spare?

Thank you

Life after the 480

Has anyone been tempted by the C30? Muddyfox's autoexpress post made me think about it again today and I went to test drive one (for the 2nd time). In the end the dealers I visited were really useless. What are people's experiences with main dealers? They all seem so arrogant and insulting! Rrrrr. A...

I removed the main feed from the reservoir to the pump today, tested it for leaks and it seemed ok.. I coated it carefully and very thoroughly in duct tape and refitted to test, and the fluid sprayed out in just the same way (didn't expect the tape to fix it if it was the pipe, only "affect" it in o...

Steering fluid leak

Hi all My PAS system dumped all its fluid suddenly, and when I refilled it, it held before switching engine on, but when running it sprayed fluid out from the pump area. It was booked into a garage to have some other bits looked at so I asked them to confirm diagnosis on this, too.. they said it's d...

Snow, glorious snow.. had plenty. Took plenty of photos. Plenty of driving in the snow.

I'm surprised by Glasgow's weather! We must have traded for a day. South of Manchester, here.. plenty!

Here's a picture.

Aye it was the cosworth, quite quick but not quick enough to justify such poor economy! The nice thing about the cossie is it has sensotronic power steering.. gets lighter as you go slower. I believe a few 480s had this feature? Pretty good for the time!

My last motor was a mid-nineties Ford Scorpio, and I've never even ridden in, let alone driven anything better, as far as comfort, form and function is concerned. So when I ditched it for the 480 (my other life long love!) due to rising fuel costs and, er, a couple of large mechanical failures [4 ha...
