Re: Does anyone have a Road test of the 2.0 480ES ?
Why did they introduce the 2.0? Especially when it is not much more powerful than the 1.7, which in itself should have been more than adequate for such a small car. I read somewhere that it was to compensate for the 'power sapping' catylic converter but I read somewhere else it was that they simply ...

Novelty car . Its my daily driver , my son and my daughter's daily driver as well. Maby to you Jim but over here in Eire anybody driving anything other than the usual Eurotrash is looked upon as some kind of freak. It's very unusual to see a car here older than 10 years, such is the numberpl...

Re: Why is this forum so dead?
Same as subject... Why does there seem to be a lack of anything going on lately Wierd alright. When I first joined here (2008) it was a lively place. But with 480's becoming rarer I suppose it's only natural that owners will too! In the current climate its becoming harder and harder for people to j...

Re: 460 interior in 440
That's a nice steering wheel you have on your 460 (or is it 480) interior there? I always thought the 440/460 interior was much nicer than the 480's, especially on newer models. I often wonder why they didn't just use the same interior in all the 440/60/80 range? I think the rickety interior is one ...

Re: Best modern HU for 480 dash
My first 480 had a really nice Kenwood with a reversable faceplate that was blank on the reversed side, so it looked like their was no radio! For some reason it looked really well in the 480! Never seen a similar one for sale since though.

They are not as uncommon as you might think. Keep a close eye on ebay and you might get lucky. Don't expect it to be cheap though!

Yeah I prefer the 1.7 also.
Always good to see 480 in magazines
Pity that there isn't a dedicated thread for things like this, you see it on many car forums.

Re: Volvo 480 ES and S??
No the 'S' is very basic spec, most came with cloth seats, no sunroof and no infocentre. I've seen some with plastic wheel trims instead of alloys too. The ES is definately higher spec.

Sorry to hear that it didn't work for you. 'BG Throttle Body & Intake Cleaner' is the exact brand of what I used. What might be handier is if you know a mechanic and get them to lend you the stuff as you will only need a small bit. I'd say most motor factors will stock it though. http://www.bg-inter...
