Re: Headlight brackets

It is correct that Volvo intended them as a sacrificial part, but it was a safety design in the event of collision with pedestrians.
So probably not a good idea to use aluminium.

Failing Electrics

I have two(?) problems with the electrics on my 1994 B20F. The most recent is very high exhaust emissions that makes the car unusable without damaging the catalytic converter. This issue has been discussed previously https://volvo-480-europe.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36155 I would like to know where...

Re: Lighting Problems

Thank you Jeff for your help, I had already swapped relays and the fog light switches from my 1994 ES (now a parts car) to no avail and was beginning to fear something like a CEM problem. It was not helped by not being able to find a wiring diagram or even an accurate relay layout for late models. S...

Lighting Problems

Please can anybody give me some advice about fixing the lighting issues that have developed with my 1995 Turbo that is my daily driver. With the headlights down everything is okay except for no front or rear fog lights. With the headlights up the driver’s side parking light is not illuminated and on...

Re: A358 Heading towards Taunton

No, it wasn’t me. The car is used daily but only in the Reading area. Having said that, it did go on a three day holiday last week to Milton Keynes when my wife used it to visit her cousin.

Bumper Support Brackets

I needed some replacement bumper support brackets part number 3415090-4. One of my neighbours runs a printing company and was able to make them in PLA for me. If anybody else needs this part Jason has added it to the store page of the website for JDPUK Ltd. www.jpduk.co.uk/collections/3d-printed/pro...

Re: Volvo 480 in Film

Maybe they are from Steven Spielberg’s personal car collection! I have read that none of the movie was made in Oslo but mainly shot in Prague. The cars have Norwegian registration plates as one would expect for film. I am sure that once the social media bunch set eyes on this it will become a cult f...

Volvo 480 in Film

I was watching the film Oslo on Sky Movies, when to my amazement an hour in there was an extended scene with not one but two white Volvo 480s, one of which being a Turbo.

Re: Multiple 480 parts needed, 1994 manual ES 2.0i, 319-1 paint code

The image Jeff has given is for the gear linkage remote what you need is that for the selector assembly. I cannot post pictures as I am only a Newbie. From my experience even when the ball joint link is intact it can be very challenging to remove as the nylon bush in the gearbox casing gets distorte...

Re: 480 Wheels = controversy!

I am quite fond of the original Pollux wheels. They are in keeping with the car, angular and futuristic for the time and having owned 480s continuously since 1989 it was only variation seen on both the ES and Turbo for several years. So continuing with the chunky five spoke design I like the Taurus ...

It is interesting that this is another example of a Celebration without a numbered plaque on the dashboard.

480 Restoration on TV

The restoration of K160 HAU was made for Flipping Bangers by the same producers as Wheeler Dealers. This episode will be shown at 9 p.m. on 18th May on Blaze Channel (Sky and Freeview). Let’s hope they do us proud.
