Reverse gear problems

Got a problem with reverse gear... Firstly it crunches when going into reverse. However the bigger problem is a lack of drive in reverse gear. It's fine on the flat, but if I try to reverse up a hill in makes a grinding noise and there's no drive getting through.. so won't go anywhere... Not sure if...

Many thanks for the info. To be honest I'll think I'l get a garage to do them, not that confident doing these myself... Do you have any advice on the best make of shocks to fit, was looking at Sachs or Bilstein?

New Shocks

I need to replace the shock absorbers, just wondering if anyone had any advice on the best option. I had thought about Bilstein Gas for the front and either Sachs Gas or Koni Red for the rear, I've read here that the Bilstein rear shocks knock. Any thoughts would be welcome...

Horn blowing fuses...

Hi,

My horn is blowing the 20amp fuse. I don't really want to start taking the steering wheel / airbag apart... Any ideas?

Looking at the discs online there seems to be two options for the rear discs, with or without hubs. Any idea which how I can tell which ones are correct for my car?

Many thanks for your help. I think I'll either have a bash at doing them myself or see if I can find a garage to fit them for me. Don't suppose anyone knows of a good garage in the Edinburgh area, or Perth area?

Thanks,

Hamish

Replacing Discs & Pads

Hi, I've been quoted about £440 for replacing all the disks and pads on my 480 2.0 GT (1994). This seems rather expensive to me, I've had a look online and I think I could buy the pads and discs for about £120 all in (Mintex from Partsforvolvos). Does anyone know if the price quoted is normal ...
