Just noticed another little quirk with my lighting system. It has been a bit foggy in Lesmahagow the last couple of days, so I have been using the front fogs. Today I noticed the lights switched on and illuminated, (with the DTRL's) although the main rotary light switch was in the off position. They...

Thanks Jim. Yeah everything else works fine, pop up's etc. Should also mention that the oil pressure gauge dies as well :dunno: Sometimes the long range lamps do come on, but again only when the pop ups are deployed, and if switched off using the button on the dash, they won't come back on until the...

Today I found out that the leak is infact, the heater matrix. Whilst replacing the bulbs in the centre console I removed the tunnel carpet. It was again slightly damp, but couldn't see exactly where it was coming from. However I've just fitted the hard plastic trays on the floor, and somehow managed...

Thanks for that, yip replaced the main light switch too. Don't know what it's out of, but as you say it could be faulty as well. Just seems strange the battery meter works ok, until I put the switch in, then it goes off. Something I forgot to mention though is the gauges don't light at all, changed ...

Lights
Done a search, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. First of all, a quick question with regards to dash lights. All my dash lights are on all of the time, (heater, hazard etc) even with the switch in the off position. Also illuminated is the bulb symbol below the rev counter. Is this correct...

I'm still around, and visit the site daily, but being new to 480's I tend to browse the info already on the forum, and not post too much in the way of advise, as there are other members out there with alot more knowledge, than myself. That said I'm sure it will be busy again once Christmas is over, ...

Another leak
I have noticed over the last few days, following all the heavy rain, that the drivers side footwell carpet is getting wet, just below the clutch pedal. There also seems to be some dampness in the passenger side centre console carpet. I've had a look, and can see a white fur like stuff on the heater ...

WANTED - Genuine Volvo Radio
I'm looking for a replacement tape/radio for the 480 since the VC708 has given up the ghost.
Anyone have a similar type Volvo Radio for sale?
One with rds etc, perhaps? or another VC708.

Better update the thread  It wasn't one of the busiest meets we've had, but this is just the first one in Inverness, so hopefully a better turn out next time. 10 cars turned up, (even a project on a trailer) and a good day was had by all, unfortunately though, only one 480, mine, where were yo...

What gets my goat is the sellers who don't respond to emails. In one of the claims I have going at the minute, I sent 5 emails, opened the claim and sent 2 other messages via that system. By this time 10 days was nearly up, so the claim was escalated, still no reply from the seller. 10 days now up, ...

Ebay
I don't if I am the only one having problems recently on Ebay, with sellers not sending items that have been paid for. So far I have got 4 escalated claims on the go with paypal for goods not received. Of course, they would blame the postal strikes for a delay in the item being sent out, funny that,...
