566 bulbs
As I said before, I used to use the Halfords issue but when my headlights stopped coming up (they would light but not flip up) I had to have the day running lamp holder replace cos (and I'm buggered if I understand why), using the wrong lamps caused the contacts on the lamp holders to corrode and th...

Sorry Guys
Just got back from Halfords, the 566 is defo the wrong bulb, infact its the one that caused all my previous problems (with pop-ups). I guess I'll have to go to Volvo again.

Parts online?
Hey - I've not been here for quite a long time!!! Glad to see that there are many more of us than before!!! Some time ago someone gave me a very good tip on where to buy 480 parts online - unfortunately I lost the URL. I'm after: 1. The little roller thing that goes in the safety-belt arm. 2. Both f...

As I understand it, daylight running bulbs for the 480 have to be the specific part number supplied only by Volvo. Although other twin filament units will fit, if the contacts are in-line and not offset, it can (and will) lead to problems with the electrics - especially the pop-up headlights. I have...

Daylight Running Lamps
Anyone got any idea if there is somewhere online to buy Daylight Running Bulbs - the proper sort with the out-of-line contacts, not the substitutes?

Well bugger me- I just found this. http://www.roofrackwarehouse.co.uk/roof_racks/price_list_Man51_Mod548_Kit1107.html someone must be reading this forum 'cos it wasn't there before. and by the way Mr. Martin Holmes, the 'O' level reference was in the pursuit of satire and not to establish that I am ...

Roings
If you've got the "roings" spyware, then you have a nasty little sod in your machine - it took me 3 days to get rid of it  . It copies a randomly named file into your Windows directory that keeps reinstalling the adware when you open IE. Use SPYBOT to find it but be sure to update spybot when...

mon Français est mauvais
Thanks ESone
I have had a poke around the French site and now deeply regret not having paid attention in Miss Harris' 'O' level class. I would happily pay 210 euro + P&P but I need to workout a way of communicating with NVolvo.
Thanks again Mate

Roof Rack
I know I asked this question about 6 months ago but there seems to be a lot more activity on the forum than there was then. I need to get a roof box fitted to my 480. Camping, the wife..... its a long story. Has anyone had a roof rack fitted? None of the big roof bar manufacturers seem to cater for ...

Flashing
I got my first 480 in 1998, I had always wanted one for the same reasons as everyone else in this club I suppose. The thing that made me like driving the car the most was that when I passed another 480, they would 'flash' me and I would flash them. I even developed a technique of flipping up the 'po...
