A 480 nearly gets the chop

Did anyone see Thunder Races on Discovery this week? A blue 480 was nearly chosen to be chopped in two and made into a centre pivot steering type vehicle. In the end they went for a VW Sciroco (or however you spell it)
I must admit I kinda wanted them to take the Volvo *LOL*

A good quality 10W40 is fine. No point in using expensive fully synthetic oil becasue the 480 doesn't have a high performance engine. Unlike japanese cars which have a shorter stroke and are higher revving (that's how they get their power). You can indeed go back to mineral oil after using fully syn...

Alternators

Can anyone tell me why cars with AC need a more powerful alternator? Standard is 70amps but AC cars require 110 amps?
The AC pump in driven from the crank, so what takes all this extra power? I mean 40 amps is a hell of a lot!!

UK. How much motoring tax actually gets spent transport

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3147226.stm 20p for every £1 collected, and that is embarrassingly low compared to other countries. I guess it doesn't help that the UK needs to spend billions housing illegal immigrants for free, having them run riots and burn down detention centres, the...

 I assume 'machine wash' means those awfull things installed in pertol stations that use recycled water, harsh cleaners and leave swirl marks all over your paintwork. You need to dry off that front bonnet section. The water has strated to dry in little round circles and it dont look good. Try taking some pictures of the whole car, not just sections.
Good luck
