I just had a friend weld one of the mounting tabs on my downpipe because it had rusted loose.

BTW: Price for downpipe at the local volvo dealer was 720 euro.... Thats insane.

Thanks! I'm gonna try cleaning the maf one more time and change the throttle posistion sensor. My MOT test is due this month and I fear my CO levels are way too high at the moment....

Anyone know online stores with cheap throttle posistion sensors they cost around 100£over here, maybe thats normal.

Checked the sensor at the block and at the ecu. It seems fine. Fuel consumption went down from 19 litres pr 100km to 15 litres pr 100 with the maf unplugged. It also starts easy and idles good (even in Drive..) But if i give it too much throttle with the maf unplugged then the engine stalls @ 1000rp...

I think both the throttle position sensor and maf are faulty. Planning on changing them both.

Anybody know where to get a cheap trotthle position sensor or maybe cleaning it could get it to work?

Okay, did some more testing. *Sympthoms: Car is hard to start. Dies when throttle is applied (when cold and sometimes when hot) and uses awful amounts of fuel. It reads 19litres pr 100km. Problem increased when airfilter got changed.* 1.Tested idle control valve : Ok 2. Tested resistance in engine t...

Whats this loose bolt on my B18FT engine?

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f134/toillball/Photo-0194.jpg Its behind the idle control valve and screws into the block underneath the sparkplugs. Looks like something used to be there, not sure what it does there now. The oil level stick holder also comes from that bolt. The picture was worse ...

Drill a small hole in the bolt and use a "screw-extractor" tool. Not sure about the dimensions of the bolt but thats what i did when my wheelbolt snapped.
