Hi Alex You do not need to remove the nosecone. The earthconnections are on the innerside of the frontwings. Near the battery and near the washerbottle. The dim headlicht may also come from a bad connection on one of the three pins from the bulb itself or a cafed wire. This can cause extra corrosion...

Hi did you check the enginemount at the rear near the startermotor? By the force of hitting the kerb the rubbereniguine mount might have torn and therefore the engine position is not correct when driving with a running engine (due to the forces) and therefor the position of the linkage is not correc...

be aware that with these 10/100 watt bulbs your car is no longer in a legal way roadworthy.
You are driving an illegal car.
And so the insurancecompany has the right to say that you are no longer
covered by their insurance. :cryhard:
Nice isnt it?

Can the headlamps be turned up by hand? If so. Than check the electrics. And check the switches for the lighting in the dashboard first after you checked teh fuses. You have to check three switches. The round knob, the left stalk and (surprise) the righthand stalk on the steeringcolumm. Do not forge...

It depends on what car you have.
In several ES types at least 3 places are not filled in in the relaybox.
Do you have frontfaglights? No than no relay
Do you have ABS? No, than no relays.
And so are ther more points to this question.

So I think you could use any good brand of automatictransmissionoil use.

With ofcourse the right specification.

Yes all 480s have an alalrm.
But not all 480s have a led.
Maybe the led in teh smaal palsticpart is only there if an additional origanl volvoalarm was fitted.
At least I have seen this on a car from 1994.

Do not use unkown gearboxoils if you are not sure that they are destinated for the 480 or other volvo 400series. Volvo has added some special additive to ist gearboxoil. Use original Volvo gearbox oil supplied in containers with the correct amount. So it is not much more expensive than cheap gearbox...

Get the car on a pair of ramps. Check the gearlinkage to the box Maybe something has bend or what I think (in faraway distance) That the nylonbloc in the gearboxhousing has worked itself a bit loose and therefor given to much play and movement to the linkage. Also the rod may be bent. And check the ...

I agree with Baffler
specially if you have a turbo with airco.
Good moment to change the timingbelt and its rollers if they are a bit older.

The "sensor" signal pickup foor the speedometer fits freely
ans does not have any pins that should fit in counterparts.
It is hold in place by a metalclamp fitted with a allenbolt (binnenzeskant) 6mm.

The gearboxes from Volva are inside different from the Renault ones. Also there are tree differennt final ratios. Two for Europe without France and one extra for France. The ratios are 3,73 for the turboversions and the two liter and 4.07 for the normal 1,7 ES . The is or should be a small tab on th...
