if its the same as kit cars (or re bodied cars). they work on a points systems to figure out how much of the vehicle is original. just changing an engine won't make a differents. or the fuel type. Glad you got back OK! I guess being stood for six months doesn't help. but Volvos always get you home. Gearbox sounds like it took a turn for the worst. but the interior should look great in the turbo. I need a diesel for the next year or two. but I will looking for a new 480 afterthat. Its kind of sad to see aceleb going this way. The celeb I got my interior and alloys from was being broken and had only done 6000 miles, rolled and stored at a garage to be 'restored'. The owner never finished it and then just wanted to get rid of it. I'm sure someone on this forum could finished it...

Our council are not that helpful! My 480 lives on the road and because the local traffic wardens are bounty hunters it has to be permitted, tax and mot else they will clamp it and give it two parking ticket a day! I guess breaking it will attact their interest, I think its going to have to go on eba...

Well as no one is interest in the car even those its tax and moted. What do people think is best. Break it (I have not really got the room to do this) or Ebay?
The rear clusters are in good nick, given their current price I could get more for these than the car whole.

Well North Wales is not that far and its quite drivable! In fact it spent a week on holiday there the other year just outside Newtown so it knowns the area!

My local Volvo dealer (Hapsteads in Hove) told me Volvo no longer do car keys for the 400 series and they order them via Silca, it cost me about £14 last year. All they need is the reg / vin of the car.
