Re: Quite urgent handbrake issue
Ok, thanks!
Just to clarify, there are no brake shoes then? The wire only actuates the caliper and the regular brakes are then clamped onto the disc?

Quite urgent handbrake issue
Hello, friends! I’ve been in the process of refurbing a 89 ES since march and im very close to success. However, the handbrake is what is standing between me and a passed MOT. So basically it’s giving 13% braking power, but it needs 16%. I have tried tightening the brake wire, to moderate success, b...

Re: A happy new 480 owner with a lot of questions
Hello again! Just a quick update from my project. I have finally managed to gotten all the instruments working :hopping: Including the info center! Here is a quick video if anyone is in disbelief :D https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ti7L2p4F3Nk After resoldering the board twice, fixing a broken lead wi...

Re: My baby has gone limp mode DELUXE
A quick update, I have noticed that the plugs are leaking fuel, or at least they seem to. Perhaps this could be part of the problem:

Re: My baby has gone limp mode DELUXE
My turbo had power loss when the ceramics in the cat started breaking up. The loose pieces were blocking the airflow and strangling the engine. This might be something to investigate. Since one of my hypotheses why my car has a rattling sound is broken ceramics in the exhaust, it makes sense if tha...

Re: My baby has gone limp mode DELUXE
Thanks a lot for the reply! I just filled up my tank at my regular place, however there was some very heavy rain today.. Perhaps some of it leaked into the tank somehow? There has been a "faint" (substantial  ) petrol smell from the cabin since I got her, so maybe there is a hole or something i...

My baby has gone limp mode DELUXE
Hello all! I have some serious issues with my darling currently.. I was driving down the highway today, doing 70kph/45mph in 5th and suddenly the car did a quite violent studder. It runs well for a few minutes and then dies completely. So I coasted off the next exit and was stranded by the side of a...

Re: Rattling/tinny sound from under the car
Yeah I'll check the heatshield at the back of the engine too, thanks!
It happens at all speeds, yeah.
Also that curb-jack idea is clever, never though of that haha!

Rattling/tinny sound from under the car
Hello, 480 friends! I have a quite annoying rattling/tinny sound coming from my car's underside. It is completely fine when idling, but as soon as I lift the clutch and give some gas it sounds like somebody is shaking a can full of pebbles or something. It usually happens when a lot of power is bein...

Re: Where are the horns located?
Thanks! "Luckily" my under tray started drooping down so I removed it. I did look under there today but didn't see it. I guess I'll go for attempt two tomorrow! I guess you go from the underside to access it then?

Where are the horns located?
After my alarm went off my horn(s) seem to have died. I hear a relay clicking when pushing the horn button, which I have also tested are confirmed is working, but there is no horn sound at all. So I'm thinking I'll just replace the horn itself and try if that works. But I can't seem to locate them. ...

Re: A happy new 480 owner with a lot of questions
Thanks for the advice on the info centre, fellas! I will try to make some time to get it sorted asap. In other news: I have managed to fix my horn issue; I took the button off and lo and behold - it was disconnected  So that's fixed now. However, I have noticed another issue - the long range li...

Re: A happy new 480 owner with a lot of questions
Oh, I just remembered. When I first got the car, I drove it home and parked at which point I locked the driver side (left) door with my key, and then went to the other side to check if that door was locked. It wasn’t and the alarm went off. It continued for a couple of excruciating and quite embarr...

Re: A happy new 480 owner with a lot of questions
Rear wiper and washer aren’t needed for MOT. High level brake light is, and the ABS light will fail too. Oh nice, I guess you're right! And the ABS goes out after starting the engine, so it's all good :P Ok guys! If I recall correctly, there are 3 cables there? Anyone knows what they all do? I gues...

Re: A happy new 480 owner with a lot of questions
Ok guys! Some news from the workshop: I fixed the windscreen wipers with some loctite, seems to be working OK for now. After the re-resolder the fog lights show up on the dash! Wohoo! As does the ABS-light for the first time ever hehe. Unfortunately the info center is completely dead still, and the ...

Re: A happy new 480 owner with a lot of questions
Hello and a warm welcome to the club ! You will get plenty of help here from people who know a lot more than me, but I might be able to help with two things. The info centre has a back light - if the bulb is blown it becomes virtually invisible. Try looking at it in the dark. There is also a adjust...

However there are some issues that need to be remedied asap, and I was thinking that maybe you guys can point me in the right direction.
