It is interesting, mine went mad today too. My wife went out with it, she sat in the parked car, then suddenly the pop-ups started their show without touching anything. She asked help on the phone and only opening the bonnet helped, then the lamps stayed still. Later at home I could only stop them b...

Thanks Martin.
I also asked this to a service guy here, he said:

"4-5-2 Start interlock, malfunction.
checking starter motor circuit."

Could this be the same?

An error code

Hello Guys,

Could you maybe identify error code 452?
What is this exactly on a '93 model Turbo?

Thx in advance...

On the CEM, it is almost certainly a Mk III. YOu can tell this one from the earlier one by the fact that the box is not rectangular, it has an angled corner. Looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v667/VanDerGraaf1974/CEM3.jpg Hope this helps. Rohan :) Thanks Rohan, great info. Today af...

Re: yep

You can change the computer under your bonnet to have tracs !!! Are you sure? I thought only '94-'95 cars had TRACS, mine is a '93 one, actually built in October '92. I've read somewhere that TRACS-equipped cars have 6 brake pipes coming from the ABS unit, mine has only 4 (?) or so. It would be gre...

Which CEM?

My indicators and warning lights started to behave weird recently. After 2-3 minutes of driving they stick, the indicator lights stay on until I switch the column stalk or the warning light off. I guess it might be the CEM, which is about to be replaed, since the buzzer in it has been keeping silent...

480 a girlie car? Nope, not at all! Just look at it from the designer's point of view. Cars positioned for women have special attributes. -- Check the length of the seat base. Typical girlie cars have short seats, (e.g. Yaris) while "macho" ones have longer seats to support a man's longer thighs. --...

OK, I will postpone the ECU swap for a few days, because I cannot pass the T5 to her, (I need the boot) while she cannot be without a car for the rest of the week. :cryhard: BTW, she does love spooling the turbo, she is a pretty good driver. Outsider to cars, though. When I had the 850 tuned, it rec...

Thank you guys, I really appreciate.
I'll do it in the evening.

Exactly what is this "learning" about?
The computer determins my driving style and adjusts its mappings (or what) to that? Is this definitive from then on? Or the computer adjusts itself regularly?

How to install rpruen mod?

Hello guys. Sorry for the hastle, but I just received the modified ECU from our Richard the Wizard, and I'd like to now for sure how to install it. Unfortunately I cannot reach Richard, probably he is away or busy or maybe sick, so I decided to ask it here. Is it only plug-and-pray? Or is there a st...

Backbox looks quite new on it... isn't the cat at the front anyway? Wouldn't want to have to replace that!!!! My backbox looked like a new one, too. Actually, first we suspected the cat gone wrong, so I bought a used one, just to find out that the original cat is just fine. Then I left the original...

Some 2 litre cars are the subject of a call-back action: they drill a 1mm hole under the 2nd (?) piston ring, to cure excess oil consumption. This is missing on certain models, somehow it did not happen at the factory. I hope the info is correct, I recalled it from a discussion 3,5 years ago when I ...
