Re: 480 Wheels = controversy!
Atlas, Lyra & Taurus. Lyra would be top pick if 15", then Taurus, then Atlas as they're the ones I'm running now and they look good. Wish they were 15 though. I'm browsing for a set of OZ Crono 16" for mine. A friend that has an E30 running 15" on Bridgestone Potenzas (and it looks MEAN) says 16 is ...

Re: 3d printed spare and repair parts
I'm considering just adding some putty in the crack and having the whole thing wrapped in vinyl, just like the door pockets (both cracked on mine before I bought it, didn't show up in the pictures, that...) after some solid reinforcing, of course. Other bits too, like the parts around the gear lever...

Re: Rear speaker replacements
I guess eventually it'll have to be the case but I'm holding out. Hopefully they didn't crush another local example of this fine vehicle and perhaps I'll find a working speaker there... FINGERSCROSSED!

Re: Rear speaker replacements
Cubby speakers, yes... I've been looking around and there's nothing that's 8cm by 15cm. Thanks James.

Rear speaker replacements
I figured out the cabling eventually but there's one dead speaker(RR) and I can't find the same size format, any leads on what to look for?

Re: 3d printed spare and repair parts
Yeah, I 3D printed the tabs and everything fit perfect. Until this morning I saw the top right corner of the dash had cracked. FML.

Re: What controls blower motor speed?
2x7 I think, I don't recall seeing 3 rows in the connector. It's a Kenwood KRC-255R (wanted something period correct) so I guess it's late 80s, early 90s, not sure if there's ISO connectors for it or how that works, I'll look into it, thanks. Edit: Have a picture of the situation: https://i.ibb.co/6...

Re: What controls blower motor speed?
While I'm at it, you wouldn't know how to wire a radio in, right? I bought a Kenwood tape deck (with a BlueTooth tape, the stuff they make these days...) and it's not working properly. I've gone as far as figuring out: WhiteBlack/White - Left side +/- speakers YellowBlack/Yellow - Right Side +/- spe...

Re: What controls blower motor speed?
Sure! https://i.ibb.co/VBq0nbC/20210321-183018.jpg Made some half-assed arrows pointing at the screws. The metal part that holds the relays and fuses will drop, if you need to change it make sure you put the screw through the metal and the part where the resistors are so you can position them proper...

Re: What controls blower motor speed?
Oh man, I'd bought one thinking perhaps it was. Just swapped it out, had to fiddle with the wires at the switch to get it to go 1-2-3-4 AND IT WERKS!!! I am overjoyed.

is this the thing you're talking about? behind the passenger side glovebox (not that there's one on the driver's side but hey)?

What controls blower motor speed?
I swapped out the blower motor for the interior A/C and re-soldered the VEM, it now works good in all VEM positions (for some reason the car's idle is now much better) but it only works in position 4. Leads me to think the VEM doesn't control the blower speed and there's something between the switch...

Re: 91 White Turbo Spanish
Your desired wheel choice reminds me of that used on the Lotus Esprit Sport 350. If modification runs hand in hand with preservation then we are in for a treat. Yet another stylish wedge from yesteryear! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those too, I'd forego any idea of RWD conversions (whi...

Re: 91 White Turbo Spanish
Thanks for the support, people! The steering wheel I find works pretty good with the car, not willing to part with it. The square one looks fine I guess, but frankly, I prefer this one. The picture doesn't do it justice and the position is a bit further out, which is more comfortable to me. @balto8 ...

91 White Turbo Spanish
Hello! First of all, long time lurker around here. Started shortly after coming across a white 480ES for sale in someone’s front yard, 999€. I needed to know more. Your posts, your stories, the issues you’ve had and how you’ve sorted out things have become tremendously useful over time and I’m incre...

Re:
Hi Johan To help you. The VEM´s main function is to regulate the airstream and the airco if you have one. The blower function is also partly regulated by the VEM. It is that level 1 and 2 or 3 if present are routed via the VEM and full is routed in bypassing the VEM. My advice is or get a good wor...

Re: Heater Fan
Well, took out the VEM and sure enough, a contact was completely released from the board and one of the tubes in the back had broken off. Soldered the contact, put some epoxy glue on the tube and eventually put it back in the car. Blower now works! All button positions, but only on the highest fan s...

Re: Heater Fan
Thanks James, I'm gonna give it a go myself after practicing with a couple of boards off some discarded electronics before I go for the VEM.
