North Notts Meeting July 6th
Same as last year (see post with similar title!). A small village carnival with classic cars, all 480s welcome (regardless of condition - but if Si or Kev come, get the polish out!), plenty of activities to keep the family happy. We had 4 x 480s last year, let's try doubling the numbers this year. p...

Update: Speedo has now packed up, and since I was relying on that to keep track of my mileage to monitor the fuel consumption, I am now going to take it off the road. It is taxed to the end of the month (March). If anyone wants to drive it home and tinker with it, the price is now £450, and you'v...

FOR SALE - Celeb 2-litre Auto
Reluctantly I am going to have to sell my Celeb  This is the ex Richmann1 car which I bought from him last year - see his for sale details of Aug 9, 2007 (I don't seem to have much luck adding pictures to my posts, but can email some to anyone interested). I had expected to be using it only occ...

I have run a 1.7 manual, 2-litre manual and 2-litre Auto over identical routes and driving conditions for the last 18 months (my motoring these days is pretty consistent and predictable). The 2-litre is better on long main road runs, the 1.7 better over smaller country roads and town running. Overal...

Re: VBB's list of standard spec on the Celebration: interesting that he quotes the Celeb as having a CD changer as standard - mine has the lowly VC602 radio cassette, and has had from new :( As for pros and cons of 1.7 v 2.0 (NA, I've no experience of the Turbo), I would suggest that if you want a s...

What's going on?
I don't see another 480 from one month to the next, but in the last couple of weeks I've seen a couple - even managed to flash one of them, with no response from the driver :( Then, on Friday, I was parked by the side of the road from Southwell to Fiskerton - a very minor road in the backwoods of No...

red 480 in Nottinghamshire
Saw a Red 480 travelling south on the A614 near Ollerton this afternoon. Saw it in good time, so flashed my lights, but no response, so I guess you are not one of us? I was too busy looking for a reaction from the driver to check the regstration number - shame, it's the first one I've seen round her...

He! He! It's me! :hopping: You'd think a grown man who is definitely on the slippery slope to old age and senility would know better, wouldn't you? It's not as if a BSA, two Lancias, two TR7s and two 480s aren't enough for one person, is it? Not forgetting a 400 year old house.... Still, it's all pa...
G100***
Very nice early Turbo in red, seen in New Ollerton, north Nottinghamshire.
If you see this, and are a local, please make contact - I am only just down the road in Warsop, and yours is the first I have seen locally for ages!

Wheels
I regularly see mention of the various original Volvo wheels: Pollux, Taurus, Vesa, etc.
Can anyone post pictures of the different types, so that I can see what we are talking about?
I thought I might find illustrations somewhere on the site, but haven't found them yet...
