Wanted: speed sensor that controls the speedometer

Hi all! I am alive and well, just incredibly busy, but still have my 480 :D So far without problems, but the speedo monster has now taken a plunge at bullying me! And I am therefor looking for a speed sensor for the 1992-1995 480 model, part number 3467846, which sits in the gearbox. https://tweaker...

Re: 480 Wanted

Hi MrMerci, congratulations on your choice, I remember buying my first 480 at age 17 :D They are awesome fun cars, but also at least 23 years old - and since they are a bit prone to rust or quirky electronics and that parts can be a bit hard to come by compared to your average 13-in-a-dozen car it h...

Re: Recent server e-mail issues [resolved]

Nice one Daniel! I was 'watching' this topic and received an email stating that it had been updated, so it must work. What about new members, will their difficulties in joining be resolved by this also? Yes registering on the forum should now work once again, activation-emails will also be send out...

Re: Recent server e-mail issues [resolved]

OK, so three weeks ago I went on holiday and on the first day of my holiday I received an e-mail from a forum user that he was unable to get a confirmation e-mail. Being in Japan I wasn't really able to do investigating, but I just got back home and found out that what the webhost provider has done ...

New moderators for the 480 forum :)

Just give it some thought, would you be willing to help out on the forum? Most of the time no effort will be required, people can reset their own password or retrieve their username, and we should be able to take for granted what can and can't be posted on a forum such as this one. But sometimes thi...

Re: FORUM ISSUES - Report them here

Surely the obvious thing to do would be get fresh moderators? We've no active moderators at all at the moment. I agree with you, first step will be to open a topic for this. Hopefully that will lead to one or two fresh moderators on the forum that will be willing to spend their time keeping things ...

Re: FORUM ISSUES - Report them here

I have brought up that matter to Daniel through the messaging function of LinkedIn since the forum messaging system isn't reliable, but he didn't respond to that. Apparently, he focuses on technical issues, not user administration, and since he is the only person with administration and moderation ...

Re: FORUM ISSUES - Report them here

Thank you Daniel. Hope you are well mate. We have a member in the UK who was having trouble joining. Rather importantly he is working on the UK launch car (it is back on the road). His name is Keith Cooper and is from Southampton. Do you think you could have a look into what happened to his registr...

Re: FORUM ISSUES - Report them here

After the most recent forum update we lost the VIP code. Captcha was no problem for the spam bots, so we were forced to disable e-mail functionality. This lead to anying side-effects (notifications, password reset links, etc. were all not being send out). I was able to revive the VIP code for regist...

Forum was updated and security has been enhanced

Hi everyone, just spend a few hours updating the forum software, we are once again running the latest version of phpbb (the platform for the forum) and I have made sure the forum is now (only) usable through https - this will ensure that your communication with the server will be encrypted so that o...

Re: Clubsite back up and running!

It appears that the clubsite is gone at the moment, there is a placeholder page from the webhoster if you type http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/ in the browser. The underlying pages are still accessible if you know the direct link, e.g. the FAQ at http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/volvo480/faq/ Someho...

Re: Recent server e-mail issues [resolved]

Hi James, Yes, alive and kicking, and doing some chores in the background to keep the club running every now and then. But sadly still little to no time to spend on the 480. He's parked safely inside the garage, gets all the maintenance he needs, but only does about 30 km annually... As some o...

Recent server e-mail issues [resolved]

Hi, Since a week I received messages from users of the clubsite that they couldn't receive e-mail messages generated bu the server. This included registration confirmations and PM-notifications and more. Yesterday I went to investigate and found in the error_log of the server that e-mail functionali...

I believe I have found a way that fixed the incorrect 'new PM' count as well. In case you were suffering from an incorrect 'new PM' count, simply go to your inbox and see that the discrepancy has vanished :hopping: Hope all board issues are behind us now and that everyone can use it the way it was d...

Re: PM issues - new PM count / disappeared PMs

I have just performed some maintenance that should restore many missing private messages. It could have restored messages that you manually deleted in the past, in that case: simply delete them again. A large problem was that users would receive error messages stating that their inbox reached a maxi...

PM issues - new PM count / disappeared PMs

For some time there have been reports of users with PM issues. The 'new PM'-counter can display an incorrect value, and your inbox / outbox / sent items folders can miss lots of posts (but still prevent you with navigation buttons for pages of missing PMs). I found reports of other PHPBB forums that...
