NetObjects Fusion - new vs. old

Okay people, here's a weird one, and I hope I don't get spanked for posting it here. Well that's a lie but we won't go into that now  I've been looking at building my own site since about 1999, when I purchased 'HTML 4 for Dummies'. I've finally got around to it, using pretty ancient software:...

Door bent out of line

Hi everyone, Okay, story as follows. A few years ago this fool I worked with leaned heavy on the driver's door of my 480, talking to me, while it was open :( The door is not out of line to look at 'side on', but looking down the side of the car at an angle, the door has come out at the bottom: it's ...

480's and the electrical twilight zone

I think you've got it in one there! I don't worry so much about anything electrical in the 480 really ... as long as it's not anything that actually affects the running of the car I just don't bother. The rev. counter works about 2 weeks per year, the fuel / temp gauges 'come alive' now and th...

Good idea!

Would be good fun Colm! :D I've noticed there's about 30 of us registered on here, didn't think there were that many Irish owners

Cheers,

Anthony.

My 1993 Volvo 480s 1.7 ... second time lucky!

I've always liked the 480's ... I recall buying an issue of 'Motor' magazine in the mid 1980's, and seeing the 'spy shots' taken by that legend of the time, Hans G. Lehmann. I sure liked the look of it ... very UN Volvo indeed! Speaking of Legends, a Honda Legend was the cover car of that issue ... ...

Ahh, the 480 electrics ...

Indeed the 480 is something of a twilight zone when it comes to electrics ... I seem to recall starting mine one day and hearing a bang. On closer inspection I realised that the day runner on the driver's side had propelled it's bulb out of the lighting cluster  lol ... Glad to hear you've go...

Trying to mosh wi' the newbies?

Hi Matt,

You not so new member, you! Actually it's not the worst idea by a long shot. Hard to find 'em scrapped here though ... there seemed to be loads of 480's once, but they just 'disappeared' ... ditto Escort MKII / Opel
( Vauxhall ) Manta / Golf MKI.

Thanks for sharing!

Wonky 480s electrics - general

Hi everyone, I bought my 480s in late '01, and the seller happened to mention that he'd investigated wiring the 2 nd. rear foglight, plus orange rear side - lights ( put there for U.S. market, I presume ). The car had a mobile phone car - kit at some stage, in previous ownership. The Blupunkt 'face ...

How to keep a 480s long term?

Hi Everyone, Hope this query is in the right place. I've owned my 1993 480s since about November 2001. It had 60,000 miles on it when I bought it, now it has 70,000. The average 2k. miles per year is the result of insurer's greed: there are no such things as 'mileage limited' policies in Ireland. I ...
