Celebration

Just spotted a red Celebration on a company forecourt on an industrial estate in Tunbridge Wells. Nice looking car with good arches etc. Is this a members car? The letters were AYD.

Re: For Sale: 1994 480 GT - Rescue Car R6

What a lovely transformation you have all done. So different from when it was on my drive, I could see the potential and am really pleased that not only has it been saved but will be a car for someone to be proud of in the future.

1991 Turbo at Copart

There is a 1991 Auto Turbo for sale at the Copart auction in Westbury. 87246 miles, auction ends on Thursday and bidding has not reached it's reserve at £225. The last Mot was two years ago and it looks like it had corrosion problems in 2013, but it looks quite clean. Rear arches look good, but prob...

New Mot Rules

New Mot rules have come out that have affected a few classic cars, but apparently so far have been down to the Mot tester. This may be of interest to 480 owners although I am not sure why they are being made What are the New MOT Rules? According to the MOT inspection manual, existing Halogen headlam...

1994 Volvo 480 Auction at Copart

Having seen a 440 last week, I thought I would have a look to see how much it went for. Then I saw a Volvo 480 on the Copart auctions in Sandwich. It is a 1994 2.0 ES with only 57000 miles. The rear arches look clean as do the rear lights. At the moment it is selling for £200 and will probably be br...

1993 Volvo 440 1.7 Auto

Just noticed a 1993 Volvo 440 at Copart auctions in Sandy Bedfordshire. Looks in reasonable condition, valued at £875 but with no bidders yet. Anyone interested? It will possibly be a bargain as it is not really a classic car auction.

Re: A Sorry Looking Celebration

This would be a very sad car to break. It looks like the archetypal one elderly owner car with only 40,000 odd miles and not used since 2012.As far as I can see it would need very little to get it back on the road, probably new cam belt, discs, pads and calipers a service and maybe tyres. The headla...

Re: Lifetime care?

My first 480 had Lifetime Care, a 1992 two tone. I claimed for a battery after about four years, but the claim was only proportional to age on certain items, resulting in a discount of 25% off the retail price. However it did help when I needed a new ECU a year later and I was given a bigger discoun...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Just noticed looking at the engine bays that the shock absorber struts are held in by bolts at the top, some are head at the top others are nuts at the top. Not very important but unusual.

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

I think I am a Man of Kent Andrew. Lots of debate now on what is a Kentish man or Man of Kent. I thought it was if you were born North or South of the river Medway other people think it is East or West Kent, some people used to think it was to do with wealth or hierarchy in the town.

Re: 26th October Mini Meet Lincolnshire Wolds

Many thanks to Sylvia and Al for arranging the event, we were very happy to take part and see so many 480's. It was also nice to see everyone there, what a friendly and helpful bunch you all are. Torrential rain all the way back to Kent but only took just over two hours.
