Re: 40th anniversary of the 480 - planning thread.
Yup - There looks to be a burger king / service station just off the E40 (Burger King Drongen North).
Thats about 88 miles from the chunnel exit, so probably not a bad first (or possibly second) stop.

Makes sense Roy. Any idea yet what time you land
Good to have options, I’ll start looking at routes and meet up points

Re: General update
Jeez that is a really bad case of laquer peeling, I have seen 'odd bits' or sometimes a panel, but all over!!! :( not much othe rthan full respray? you can't just put clear coat on  The problem is that full paint is 3k and at the end of the day, it’s “just” an es. Quite a solid one, but…. I q...

General update
A rare lengthy post from me, to give you all something of an update, as I've been rather quiet of late. Work has been, quite frankly, hellish! 2 years ago I started a HUGE project, which had been slowly consuming all my time. It completed just before Christmas and ended in a rather fantastic 84 hour...

Re: 21 Years of ownership
Unfortunately driving something so unique comes at a price. It's why I find series 2 Land Rovers and MGB's (et al) so utterly boring at classic car shows because all parts are on the shelf still. No great challenge to keep them going. This x1000! Classic mini? Pah, you can literally build a brand n...

Re: 21 Years of ownership
Congrats!
As Jay said, the older a car gets, the more frustrating ownership can be.
I’d happily forgoe free tax and cheaper insurance for reliable and quality parts supply!

Re: Fuel Tank Strap Questions
You're correct in your assessment of the differences as well as the the things that stop the tank from dropping - Along with the likelyhood of both straps failing simultaneously through rusting is highly unlikely! They're not interchangeable - 48l straps have to be used on a 48l tank, 60 on a 60. Wh...

That G plate is an oddball - on the early (and very hard to find) interior, and I’d have thought they’d have swapped by then - Seymour is G plate and sports the later interior and engine.

Alistair (Al) Luckham
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alistair (Al) Luckham, beloved partner of Sylvia. Many will fondly remember Al from his cars —most notably his Green GT (Sven), his Paris Blue Turbo (Eva), and occasionally his Saab Estate (KimoSabbie). Sylvia and Al were true ambassadors of the...
