Re: How do I restuff a 480 headrest (or get a new one)?

Second hand one would be the obvious answer. They don’t seem to wear like seats do

Re: Vibration noise

is the car manual or automatic?

You need to get someone to load the engine (automatic - Put in drive whilst holding the brake, Manual, hold at biting point on clutch) whilst watching the engine.

the engine should move slightly - if the mount has gone, it'll leap about!

Re: Gas springs for the rear window

SGS don’t recharge them, but they will give you brand new ones of equal length and poundage. Henry (the green turbo) has a set on the pop ups; they list the tailgate ones in their catalogue and I tried to get them to include the pop ups in there too (after having mine as samples), so they may be the...

Re: Photobucket. All my 480 related images here

Sadly not :(

I'm using google photo's for now, on the basis that *hopefully* they're too big to fail, but I do keep a backup of all my own stuff.

Ultimately, the best method would be storage on the forum host itself, so we're never at the mercy of picture hosters.

Re: Footwell carpets damp

Honest advice?

Pull the interior out. Firstly it'll give you a chance to thoroughly dry the interior, but it makes it SO much easier to trace a leak.

Front carpets can still be a boot leak! Water can run through from the back and end up in the front wells.

Re: 1991 480 ES "Williams" 2.0 16v conversion!

Non-ABS 1991 car sir ;) now with that you could be on to something.... i had thought of just using a cold air feed from the front end, i guess i would just require an airbox round the trumpets and maybe some altercations to ensure plenty cold air came into the skuttle... The area at the base of the...

Re: 1991 480 ES "Williams" 2.0 16v conversion!

Has the ABS been removed? I'm presuming you've a friendly MOT tester? Bloody love it though - All that space above the gearbox makes me think you need a clio maxi style airbox to take advantage of the low pressure air in the windscreen scuttle http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ht2ZHzFOflE/TatALG5XbqI/AAAAAA...

Re: WANTED: rear lamps covers

there is a thread on here for getting them 'remanufactured' , thread maybe started by 'Brinkie'? suffice to say I think it has 'stalled' but happy to be corrected, but even whenm it 'looked promising' it wa snot going to be a cheap option as they are VERY complex to cast as multiple colours etc. ma...

Re: closest car to a 480? (that isn't a 480)

Must admit, I’ve a slight twinge for the MK4 celica, as well as the earlier celica supra. https://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201405/1982-toyota-supra-generat_1600x0w.jpg Now, in terms of appearance, how about this; one of my friends photoshopped a mk1 mr2, extending it to be a shooting brake sty...

Update time! So, finally tackled the wiring.... We've gone back to the mega fuse but instead of my amazing fuse box that wont' fit, I've had to use a single megafuse in a holder and essentially run everything from it. Looks like this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/WzvKRbU6o8OWQU3d5ulHizYV7cQHxqX...
