Re: Methods of preserving a Number Plate

Once they start to go, they’re irreversible.
Get it copied, wear the copies, keep the originals somewhere warm and safe

Re: Methods of preserving a Number Plate

Have a look in my green turbo thread (worse kept secret). James found a company that can reproduce the plates. Mine were impossible to tell apart - there’s pics to prove it

Re: So, today was the day...

Oooo also remembered I swapped out the rear hatch seal for the 440/460 one.... Slightly longer so you have to cut it down, but here's the difference in profiles: 480 on the top https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/7n-Mj-Zdk89wcd0umPLvmfxhl79GCFZd81XmEOTXtYnqGQiXZGIFtoUUx6t5AceDU8cU4_G_RuAx--4aBhzehdlmz...

Re: Fog light and heated rear window switch busted - what to do?

They’re a combination of capped and capless 286 bulbs.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401525445728

Dashbulbs are capped, with the exception of the info centre and dashboard illumination,

Heater, cigarette lighter and a few others are capless.

I feel another thread coming on....

Re: Fog light and heated rear window switch busted - what to do?

Dashboard out isn't that bad a job! I reckon most 480 owners can do it in undo 5 minutes!

Plus you then get a chance to repair the front/rear dashboard panels. oh and replace ALL the bulbs in the dashboard/instruments in one go!

Completely unobtainium.

However, you could use something like this to effect a fairly decent repair.

Re: Fog light and heated rear window switch busted - what to do?

its more likely a problem with what lies behind the dash that the switches themselves - happy to send you a spare switch pod if you want to test though. The contacts sit on plastic towers that are part of the back half of the dashboard - very likely, they're all split or non-existent meaning that yo...

Re: Shame! Shame! Shame!

I’ve Seen it happening more with volvos of late; It’s used to be the 340/360’s stripped for “drifting” but I also very recently saw a saffron c70 t5 coupe that had been started as a “track car” before “moving on to a new project”. Essentially, he’d binned all the rather lovely leather interior, bar ...

Re: Possibly the worse kept secret....

When I posted the last update, I didn't know the cap pressure... Having discovered it was actually 1.5bar and I'd only pressurised the system to 1.1, it kinda played on my mind for the last week..... So out today, and how glad am I i went to the full 1.5 bar? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/SBP6lm...
