They’re located not too far from the start of the meet...

Just wondering how amusing it would be to descend en-maase to view it...

Re: Nilani - the latest acquisition

Nice progress so far! Shall keep the fingers crossed for a/c. I believe all parts for r134a are unobtainium. Some parts are available for R12 (but you can’t get R12 gas!). Get them to vac the system and make sure it can hold vacuum for at least 30 minutes. I’ve got a box of generic r134a seals, need...

Wow, Jinyu tires, the owner really must have put some money in the car... Let’s have it right - incorrectly sized Jinyu tyres! You can tell an awful lot about an older car simply from the tyres. Clearly this owner has gone with the “what’s the cheapest thing that’ll fit my car” approach.

Re: Stolen From Bristol - Volvo 480 ES

How often do these get stolen? I know they are undesirable value wise, and they will probably never rise to very much, but how worried should I be when out and about in mine/what precautions should I take? I think, very rarely. However, given that the only real deterrent is a flashing LED, they're ...

Re: Dead battery and a busted earth lead?

If I'm reading this right, you've found an EXTRA battery negative terminal? After the original broke it looks like someone has added an replacement already  and this is what you disconnected from the battery and can be seen placed over the air filter box cover?‎ If thi‎s is the case, you can just c...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Earlier models had a side shield both sides; later ones (at least, 2.0 l) only had one on driver's side. If yours is missing I have a spare driver's side one... Is the bonnet sitting properly closed along its side seals? I can't understand why the engine is getting so wet - cleaning those drain hol...

Re: Dead battery and a busted earth lead?

Quite simply, replace it.

have a read of my post here

Its quicker to simply replace earthing cables than try to replace them.

Cut the end off that cable, roll it up and slot it into a new clamp. Add extra earths for good measure.

Firstly, no need to apologise for texting. “The only silly question is the one the you never ask” was taught to me a long time ago. Locking wheel nuts - take a picture of the sort you have. Shall bring dougie along (the battery impact wrench - named because when you use it, it goes “dougie dougie do...

Are they the right wheels? Look like the 14's when it should have 15's. Although, for £2300 I'd be expecting a whole lot more pictures too!

Re: Possibly the worse kept secret....

At the risk of putting everyone to sleep :bored: Technically, in 2019, it is ‘illegal’ for a registered plate maker to use the older 57mm wide Charles Wright font. It would be ‘illegal’ to have 57mm characters on a plate which displayed BSAU145d. BSAU145d are the post-2001 regulations that dictate ...

Re: Possibly the worse kept secret....

Exactly that - The right hand side ones are the original ones from 1994. The ones on the left are copies - "show plates". Whilst Identical to the originals, the dealership is no longer around (and definitely wouldn't answer an 081 689 2020 number!) UK law now says that the original suppliers name mu...
