Re: No spark - No start - help or scrap

Firstly - What model of 480 is it? Second - Where in the country are you? Have you actually checked to see if there's a spark? Something like this can be helpful (as can a second pair of helping hands!). If you're not getting a spark from the plug, next check is whether your getting a spark from the...

Re: First 480, first real project car

People who have taken their bumper off, do you put the foam insert back in or do anything with it? Absolutley! The two bits of foam at the sides that sit on the plastic shelves though.... They need obliterating. But I'll order 6 new bushes. I know a man that keeps them in stock.... The auxiliary la...

Re: Broken Cambelt - Next Steps

Have you pictures of the piston damage? There’s many factors here: How much time have you got? How attached are you to the car? Have you space to work on the car? Have you the tools/knowledge to do the work yourself? Engine out and rebuild would be the optimal - but it’s not cheap, easy or quick. If...

Re: hold on lads i've got an idea....

Ok, little slow doing this but hopefully this should work.... PDF how to's Still plenty more to do of course..... Damn that's clever, assumes that you don't exceed your 16Gb storage allowance, easily solved by setting up numerous accounts :-) note that you are still using a 'third party' to store t...

Re: Yet more engine issues

So, as you mentioned a Robou ECU, I'm presuming you're turbo?

Does it boost ok?
Did it start suddenly or has it been gradually getting worse?
Any changes done prior to it starting?
Does it idle correctly?

Re: Does anyone know how to repair cracked rear light lenses?

You know about this?

Polishing the lense may be enough - depends how deep the crack is though. Captain Tolleys "Creeping crack cure" has been suggested previously too...

New lenses (once they're in production) will be the best solution

Re: Possibly the worse kept secret....

so, what started out as "flush the heater to see if we can get more heat" has turned into: Heater matrix removal (and flush) New Matrix ordered (because £30 is cheaper than risking it not being right) Front seats removed, and thoroughly cleaned. which meant the rear seats had to come out and be thor...

Re: First 480, first real project car

I tend to work a little hap-hazardly, jumping from one thing to the next. Setting a goal, and Making a list of whats needed to achieve it is a really good thing. But also.... Whilst the car is jack stands: Clean the wheels (insides as well!) Check brake linings, bleed the fluid. check your front sus...

I know it's an example list, but if you have a couple of working headlight struts I'd be delighted to be your first official customer! David Working??? They're brand spanking new, never been out of their packing. Closest they've been to a 480 is when the courier walked past the car on the driveway!...

Jiffs Little shop of horrors...

Probably not quite the thing you were epecting (or maybe you were) but I've decided to open a little something of a 480 shop... Lets deal with the very obvious questions first: 1) Is this going to make you filthy rich? I blummin wish. Stuff isn't going to be sold for profit. 2) Have you got any rear...

Re: First 480, first real project car

well done on tackling a 480 as a first off. don't be tempted to take too much apart at any one time as the project can quickly become daunting!! THIS! Take a look at my project thread - The bodywork on my 480 is battered and 3 years on, it's still the same whilst lots and lots of other jobs are bei...
