If we wanted precise data could we do a FOI request to DLVA (Freedom of Information). This would give us an accurate number of all 480s taxed or SORN. It would be good to get a clear picture straight from the horses mouth.
Just a thought.

Re: Door Protectors or Not
If it were me, I'd remove them; Sure you're going to be a little more susceptible to parking dinks, but if you're already conceded to it never being concourse, whip 'em off. Nothing stopping you adding them back in later if you find a decent set, of course. Plus it also means you can check for hidd...

Re: Door Protectors or Not
What a lovely looking car and a great colour.
Mine has the black bumpers so would never look quite as stylish, but you have reassured me that the body still looks attractive enough minus the door protectors.
Thanks

Ok I think I have worked out how to upload some photos. Colour variance is the photo not the car The grubby door missing the trim is how it was when I bought it The shiney door, no trim, was after hours of very gentle cleaning The side with the trim is only trim on the car and although this looks go...

Door Protectors or Not
Hi All When I bought my 1991 ES Auto it had black rubber door protectors down one side. Rubbers are in three pieces front wing, door and rear wing. Thanks for the warning about trying to remove it.
Sounds like silicon may be the best option at least in the short term. Will probably consider replacing when we have the long summer weekends

Re: 2017 meet ups?
Hi All
I'm in Oxfordshire so would be happy to meet midlands or south area.
The car has been having lots of done , the normal stuff infocentre, wiring, water ingress. This will be my first year of using it properly and I am looking forward to swapping stories with other 480 owners.

Cracked Washer Bottle
My ES Auto has a crack around the top edge/corner of the washer bottle, meaning that when I go over a bump water splashes out.
Has anyone tried to repair the plastic bottle?
If I wanted to replace it are there any hidden challenges.
Cheers

Battery Holder
My ES Auto has an aftermarket battery sitting on the battery tray, but it's not secured in anyway.
The tray is solid, but does anyone have a spare bracket or fixing for holding the battery in place?
Happy to cover any costs.
Thanks

Re: Original service documentation
I would be interested in these to add to my collection of ephemera if the price was acceptable.
If I bought them I would be happy for someone in the forum to borrow them, scan them all and make them available for all to see.

Re: GJ's mega clearout of spares for sale
Hi Jim
I am also looking for a piece of the dashboard as all the fixings are snapped on mine. The piece I need is the first bit you unscrew to start removing the dash. Do you have one?
Thanks Trevor

Re: GJ's mega clearout of spares for sale
I'll take a pair of seatbelt arms, a popup relay and a pair of DRL bulb holders, if you have them. Will the remainder of the stuff be dumped at some point if no-one takes it? Seems a shame if so as the community will lose a very valuable resource for spare parts. My suspicion is that the vast major...

Wanted 480 OS Rear Light Unit
Hi All, this is my first post so please treat me gently! I have just made the big step to buy a 480es auto, it's in pretty good condition, but the drivers side rear lens has a small crack. Does anyone have a spare for sale? So far other renovations are going well thanks to the support from other own...
