Re: A Sorry Looking Celebration (Given a Lifeline!)

This is brilliant news Sylvia! Hopefully no problems at the MOT, and a gentle start to reminding Pud what moving on a road under her own power is about...she's got a somewhat longer journey ahead to reach the Pamper Parlour! Many thanks to Jeff for all his efforts on this and the other rescue proje...

Car was just about driveable and limped home daughter was fine. These cars are safe . Good to hear from you agai...

Re: A Sorry Looking Celebration (Given a Lifeline!)

Well good news and bad news on R2. The bad is that the facebook grey Celebration for breaking has already gone in the crusher, taking our chance of a drivers door and rear bumper in the correct colour with it (not to mention details for the register) :cryhard: The Lone Ranger (our Saab is called Ki...

Re: A Sorry Looking Celebration (Given a Lifeline!)

Mmm,once Jeff has worked his magic I may well be interested in rehoming this one. The low mileage makes me think it would make a lovely daily driver. Let’s hope the MOT does not throw up anything to serious.

When you consider the dodgy turbo that sold at Bonhams, this looks a bargain.

Re: Anyone had experience with Mk1 Cavaliers?

They are fairly nippy for their time but if you think a 480 rusts , you ain’t seen nothing yet! Used to own a mk1 it was four years old and riddled with it. Also the interiors were shoddy and fell apart.

Re: Pool Car R1

R1 is with jifflemon in Milton Keynes. And you're MORE than welcome to pop in for a cup of tea and a poke around with spanners! Don’t think I will have time to come across that far. For some reason I assumed you were near to Sylvia. I am going to Aldeburgh and the east coast to see family. Funnily ...

Re: Pool Car R1

Hi Sylvia, where is R1 located at the moment? I am coming down to east Suffolk on Saturday for a few days and would love to see it in the flesh.

Re: Pool Car R1

Well done to everyone concerned, let’s hope that the parts spend is not too big.It will be good to get her/him back on the road and maybe someone can make use of the pool wedge.

Re: A pool 480?

Hi all, is the collection of the wedge still on for today? I know we are short of target at the moment. If it goes as planned some pics would be good.

Cheers Norman

Re: A pool 480?

Thinking about this a bit more, we could rescue other wedges even if only to create a large parts pool which members could have access to.

Re: A pool 480?

Reading this post gives me dejavu. DC and myself were only this morning talking about the pool car idea. I am all in favour of it and this wedge looks like it could be an ideal candidate. I went and looked at Wills ES today with this in mind, sadly although it’s got an MOT the arches are a bit tatty ...
