If you do find the area of water ingress please let me know as I have the same problem. Haynes manual is certainly better than nowt. I'm interested to hear how you get on.

Re: 1st time 480 buyer, help needed...
Firstly, you got a much better deal than I did, like you, just had to have it. Took ours to the local garage and they gave me a list of things that needed doing. Re the info centre, you maybe really lucky like us and all we did was take it out and reinstall. Another tip would be to get yourself a Ha...

Re JamesCarruthers. I suspect you are right with falling foul of Internet tactics, maybe my inexperience as well. Was a bit miffed, maybe be being too sensitive, was just trying to help. But yes, certainly peace!

James Carruthers - Re the suspension point, took me four attempts to get the parts, the other three came back with "sorry, our stock list is wrong we don't have any and neither does the manufacturer". That's my experience and not a matter of being correct or not.

Re: 1st time 480 buyer, help needed...
Hi. I too am fairly new to 480 ownership but one area to look at is the rear....under the boot carpet and the two wells for the spare wheel and jack. Look under the boot seal as well, as this is a good place for rust to get a foot hold. Also look around the front windscreen for rust where the rubber...

Front shocks
Hi. Any ideas where I can get front gas shocks from? I've tried three places for KYB shocks but despite saying they have them....they don't. Fitted KYBs at the back thinking the fronts were on their way. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted. Ta

Interior light/Ariel not working
Hi. Not sure what I've done but interior light, and electric ariel not working, but other items on the same circuit are so it's not the fuse. Only thing I can think of is that the boot interior light did not have a bulb in it and when working in the boot the live touch the body and sparked. Anyone a...

New tailgate seal
Hi. Any ideas where I can get a new tailgate seal, or am I best going to a classic car show and buying a seal there?
Also the seal between the doors and windows on the outside needs replacing, and ideas where I can get new ones of those please? Thanks
