Re: Low mileage Celebration for sale
I was at KGF the other day looking at a Fiesta ST for a friend. Lovely chap who runs it, very friendly and accommodating. Prices optimistic but like most of these examples... “go find another one” as they say. They have a lovely 244GL for £6995  Cant wait to go see it one lunch time. Thanks f...

Re: Rescuing Eva
What an opportunity to rescue another Turbo from salvage and keep it in the community. It is also a brilliant example of the need for 'agreed valuation' on insurance policies. I know values are all over the place, but to buy another, rust free, sub 50,000 mile Turbo with history and low owners, you'...

Re: 1994 Volvo 480 Turbo Diary
Haha thank you - yes, the house is redundant now  Todays 480 anecdote : Chatting with my paint guy, gave him the code "305" for the boringly titled "Black Metallic". He said just run the VIN through a Volvo dealer to double check. He confirmed quite a bit of blue in the mix which explains its ...

As jifflemon says; "Any update is a good update" ! So here goes... https://thumbsnap.com/s/lq1NMIAg.jpg https://thumbsnap.com/s/1DwmzpKF.jpg A long build, juggling many tradesmen. Is the dash surround held on with duct tape behind the fog light switches?!?

Re: Possibly the worse kept secret....
Can you tell which set is, and more importantly, why? At the risk of putting everyone to sleep :bored: Technically, in 2019, it is ‘illegal’ for a registered plate maker to use the older 57mm wide Charles Wright font. It would be ‘illegal’ to have 57mm characters on a plate which displayed BSAU145d...

Re: Clacton and Tendring Rally - Strangers Pub - Bradfield - Celebration Spotted!
Better late than never! I did the same pub this year spectating out the front.... and got absolutely drenched! I did check the car park again just in case.... to no avail this year. Thumbs up for marshalling - volunteers make this event happen. Looking forward to 2020. Hope the celeb is doing well.

Re: Launch car Found!
I like the modifications - the body colour front skirt is nice - are the headlamp pods done as well? Amazing how those two body-colour items lift the car and that they weren't OE. I'm just surprised they have been performed on such a historically significant car. Try and get the wider Charles Wright...

480 Spotted; Norwich City Centre!
Doing my HGV training/test in Norwich City Centre this week, today I spotted a metallic blue (possibly Paris?) 480 on a K plate at about 11am.
Instructor was slightly less excited than me
Had GT Vesa wheels but didn't think blue was a GT colour + K too early?

Re: Running On
I was always taught carbon glowing cherry red, wrong temp plugs or a petrol engine 'dieseling' on its oil (poor oil control rings etc). But, if you say its a rebuilt engine, that eliminates two of those! I've had a few carb cars run-on, but never an EFI. When injectors dribble they tend to do just t...

Brilliant news... something involving DVLA actually made sense!
Now you need some period, pre-2001 font plates with "VOLVO press office" at the bottom!

Hey mathrock, Wow, a 480 in the US... people must think its a spaceship! Just like when I went crazy when I saw a 780 over here. I'm gonna have a go answering a question rather than lurking! 1) That ring, according to my sales brochure, should illuminate. I would imagine its made out of a translucen...

What on earth's going on there  He's given his car a moustache?!? The blind has sadly seen better days. I always thought that was a cool accessory - but didn't someone on here say the rattle drove them crazy? As a number plate geek, I love that rear plate. It's slightly oversized vertica...

Very interesting data - I like how DVLA is publishing this stuff - albeit after a FOI request. The data is very 'dirty' though. Looks like entrants have had free text - very dangerous! You should see the amount of spellings for Vauxhall! 480 Xi and 480 GLE..... they are 440 trim levels. ... and they...
