Re: Celebration 403

Hi Henry, thanks for the further information. You'll find us a "tough crowd" on here and it's a nice change to have a dealer seek to respond constructively to our comments. Cracked dashboard you are so right about - dont think I've seen one without a crack for many years. Cracked centre console is n...

Re: High co2 emissions 480 2.0

Hello and welcome KCantle - another Celebration :D Look forward to seeing some details and pictures. A previous Celeb of mine had a similar problem and so wouldn't pass an MOT. We tracked the problem down in the end to the green wire that runs from the lambda sensor to the ECU. It is a shielded wire...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Oh yes - and especially for Jeff while I am catching up - in case anyone wondered yes, Nilani's engine bay cleaned up nicely as well but no, sadly, I don't have a pollen filter for her. Mind you, I haven't resurrected her air con yet so it doesn't matter quite so much as it does for Lily... https://...

https://i.postimg.cc/zGxPxG0t/Lily-3rd-May-2020.jpg Can I just say from today’s Virtual Meet, that looks a treat. Thankfully he didn’t submit an engine bay shot - I will get a pollen filter housing one day..... Thanks Jay - I saw your comment late last night and it brightened my day no end! Lily is...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

So sorry I wasn't able to get back to this yesterday - life got in the way, which is perhaps one of the disadvantages of doing a meet while still at home? Thanks so much to Sylvia for all her work though - as always on these things! I very much look forward to being able to do the next meet in a mor...

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Here’s my project: As Snazzy is both ‘just’ an ES and very high mileage (230k), she is the least valuable of our 480s so she is going ‘non standard’ in some respects. I’d like to copy this idea on the headlights: https://www.dragonflyjewel.co.uk/sylvia/blackout.jpg So, what to use to blackout the h...

Re: Celebration 403

Yes, it looks like quite a nice example but £9K?? I know Jeff and I have slightly differing views on the prices being sought these days - but we're never that far apart! In addition to his points as well as the obvious lack of spoiler, it also has an incorrect boot-lid... When I first looked at this...

dc's pic of Nilani has the wing mirrors looking like they're perched on top of the headlamps - look just like a pair of warts !

Re: May 23rd Virtual Mini Meet

Hello All! Sorry to be late arriving and I hope everyone is well :D I am a bit bogged down today in various matters that I won't go into, but hopefully I can join in a bit more fully later on... Meanwhile, a couple of the latest photos (sorry, a couple of weeks ago) just to "drive in" - first Lily, ...

Re: Typical idle speed at start on CELEBRATION

Alan I remember noting this because I didn't remember my previous Celebration doing it. Given I drove it for over 6 years I felt I should! However it never seemed to be a problem so I just accepted it. My current Celebration does exactly the same, so given the replies on this thread I guess it's nor...

Re: Famous 480 owners?

I can add two more names: Lord Carrington, former Foreign Secretary who resigned over the Falklands crisis, drove one in the late 80's - he used the same vets as we did when I was still at home and I once saw him there with the car - pale blue metallic IIRC... Bobby Pryor, who does traffic reports o...

Sadly it sounds as if it needs to join the other spare parts :cryhard:

How much pressure is there to get the car and parts moved?

Re: 480 spare parts (lots of)

As per the previous two posts, we're all keen to get our hands on spare parts! As soon as we're allowed to move again I think you might get a party from North Yorkshire coming to see you... Kind offer re the club - not sure about our joint storage capacity but you have a few owners nearby so perhaps...

Re: Cold start idle

@DCWalker I live in the Netherlands. It is probably easier for me to just look around here for a ICV? Bram  I had a funny feeling you were going to say that! Yes, looking for parts a bit closer to home first would be sensible! However, you latest post suggest that your ICV is working fine. 8 o...

Re: Cold start idle

I will check the discs re TPS a bit later - need to be on my old desktop for that!

Have checked both Haynes and a working ICV (on the GT) and the resistance is 8 ohms. If you only have 0.01 that might be an answer?

Re: Cold start idle

Hi all, I just did some checks with the IAC. Your ex-Bosch guy is correct about the little self test. The unit opens en closes when the ignition is switched to position 2. I forgot to test what the valve does when you start the car... I disconnected the 2 hoses and then tried to start the car. The ...

As Alan says, if you've disconnected the ICV you need to clear the codes, run the car again, then see what codes you have then...
