and its got a rear wash nozzle...

Aye, but I wouldn't be shelling out £850 for one of those

Best case is someone falls in love with the thing and wrings a deal out of the erm, dealer.

Save the wedgie!

Re: Wedgie on an A Frame?

Thanks for the replies Jeff and Jay :) The idea came from SWMBO who asked whether we could take her pootle-mobile (an automatic Chevrolet Matiz) with us on our next trip, to make it easier to nip out for supplies & for easier parking on day trips around the areas we are exploring. Given the Moho has...

Wedgie on an A Frame?

Hello folks, I'm toying with the idea of using the wedge as a tow-car to take with us behind the Moho when lockdown finally succumbs to capitalist ideology and we are allowed out of our lead lined bunkers to roam semi-freely once again. Basic logic is that a 480 can get to a lot more places than a M...

Re: Anyone Looking for a Starter 480? - eBay - Alton, UK.

I'd say the garage is being a bit greedy, since the lump already actually 'sold' last week on fleaBay for the princely sum of £487.77. The original ad was all righteous about payment and collection within 3 days, so I'm guessing the 'lucky winner' has probably blabbed about their excitement about ac...

Re: 91 White Turbo Spanish

Hello Aram, Awsome account of your journey (literally!) into 480 ownership. I particularly liked your turn of phrase- "It might be just 122hp, but every now and then they pull like they’re on crack." Love the colour! My first 480 (a '91 ES 1.7 non-turbo) was also all white, so I have a soft-sp...

Re: 1994 480 S on eBay

Hello all. I was the lucky bidder on this particular 480 and after a brief inspection it was driven 101 miles back from Derby without anything alarming issues reported. As others have said, it seems someone ticked all the options on this S, and so far, most of it works apart from the speedometer......

Re: Now it's getting silly!

Hmm, yes, I wonder how quickly that will fly off the shelf at that price? Am guessing it will be hanging around for a good while. I know Gort - it is a small town on the West side of Southern Ireland, between Limerick and Galway, quiet and not much going on there other than farmers markets (a...

Re: Awww! Mothballs!!

Robert, Soooo jealous of the wonderful treatment you are lavishing on your 480 - as you've seen from the first photo on the thread, mine is somewhat less comfortably stowed in a garage that is more reminiscent of a recycling centre than a safe haven for a treasured vehicle! On the cluster question -...

So here's a suggestion for any bored owners. Clean your wheels.

Took about 45 minutes per wheel.
No, not that bored yet

'Investment Opportunity' Looks like the pop ups are popped, but otherwise very tidy and if I hadn't shot myself in the wedgie over New Year I would be sorely tempted, :boom: :boom: especially as my first was all white too. I can imagine Maeve's reaction if i rocked up with another.. https://i...

Re: Awww! Mothballs!!

I'm busier than ever on them! Perfect time to start getting all those little jobs done! Come on Martin, those rear lights are dying to polished... plus you could get the wheels off and give the insides of them a real good clean? Haha Jeff, yes I thought about the rear clusters as soon as I'd posted...

Awww! Mothballs!!

Hello wedgie community, I was wondering how many others of you might have taken a similar decision to lay up / mothball / hibernate your cars due to the current lock-down? I started last month by taking the car off road and declaring SORN and then that progressed to putting the car into the garage i...

Re: Favourite 480 memories

Well, I'm on my 6th Wedge, having started back in 2006 with my 'first love' a white low mileage ES 1.7 (1991 vintage) https://i.imgur.com/4lZOMAH.jpg The love affair was not in any way dimmed by my first major drive in her, during which the catalytic converter collapsed, causing the car to refuse to...

Re: 480 for Sale

Well done Sylvia for having enabled us to see clearly through our 480 tinted spectacles! Whilst it is a shame that the car is a crock, at least we will be spared the ignominy of buying unseen at a distance and then trying nobly to live with the consequences. I did this once with a 'low mileage / one...

One week on and the question on everyones lips is: "is the tank removed?"    Come on people! Instead I removed the upper arms - As previously mentioned, I'd see a horror post on Facebook, and true to form, Britney was no different. N/S kinda played ball - And by that I mean...

Re: 480 for Sale

Well, I emailed the owner (Graham) about a week ago, but have had no reply as things stand. I'd hate to see the car go to the 480 wedge in the sky, and would put money in to preserve her, or even go the whole hog and take her on - although i have nowhere to store another car just now. Zapcity - what...

So sorry Norm, Nigel, Martin and Yorkie that I missed this - unavoidable circumstances on the day :( Glad you had a good time, though, and nice to see some photos; once the current pandemic issues are clear, perhaps we can do it again? Re: 480 for Sale

Why don't we all club together, buy the car and donate it to one of our number who is currently off road? That way the car remains on the road and not a casualty of the great garage in the sky, and someone deserving gets a low mileage daily driver gratis. Just an idea.. crazy yah, but worthy of cons...
