Re: Correct cv joint

I reckon they’re all the same mate, only difference would be between ABS and non ABS, ie the absence of a trigger wheel for the sensor, the joints themselves are probably no different though.

Re: Digi Clock and Orange Richmod ECU

I wouldn't mind a spare orange ECU, just because.... How much do you want for it and do you happen to have the ignition one as well, modded or not?

I've just taken the last but one room at the oak, you'll have to get in there quick if you want to say the night!

Be nice not to have to drive back the same evening, bring on the beers ;)

Re: Intriguing discovery about spark plugs-got the right one

A correct spark plug for starting the engine doesn't exist. I know that The plugs are ranged from warm to cold and the hotter the temperature in the cumbustion chamber the colder the plug should be. Hence me saying I would put the cooler plugs back in for a track day to reduce the chance of knock I...

Never say never. Time will turn everything to dust eventually...

even Volvos but I reckon you might still find the remains of something like a 200 or 700 series several million years from now :)

400 series, maybe not... but hey, enjoy it while it lasts! :volvo:

Re: Intriguing discovery about spark plugs-got the right one

but this way I feel I can be certain to have the right ones, they seem of good quality, and usually not expensive. Aiming to service Lily very soon, including a spark plug change, so if I remember I'll post up a picture or two on here of the genuine article. Sensible really, I'm discovering more an...

Re: Intriguing discovery about spark plugs-got the right one

However, I didn't notice a big difference in the way the engine is running. OK, maybe I was over egging it a bit when I said "much much better" But there's definitely a perceptible difference I think, albeit a subtle one that perhaps only an engine nut like me would really notice! It makes se...

Intriguing discovery about spark plugs-got the right ones?

To cut a long story short, my turbo has been a bit of a bitch this week, 3 days it failed to start when cold in the morning, flatted the battery trying and ultimately got it going by bump starting but with a horrendous misfire until slightly warmed up, by which time all seemed normal and it would st...

Re: Blinky 51/480

I heard a similar story about Mk3 golf arches and used one on the old blue turbo a few years back, it was far from perfect but it worked. Looked reasonable in it's own right but you can tell it's different if you see it side by side with an original one. Be interested to see whether the escort ones ...

Re: My second 480...... project 'sleeper'

Got a bit more done on the project today after work, needed a kick start, haven't touched it for a little while now. Decided it would be a good idea to get the engine and box out again, now that I know roughly where I stand with it and get my new mounts bolted in. I made some clamping spacers to go ...

but like Rachel he wouldn't want to spoil Eva - she is very low mileage and lovely condition. but although I want to have a bit of fun I don't want to totally rag my 480! Herein lies the reason for good preparation of the car beforehand, if the car is properly prepared you can drive hard without ru...
