Re: Back in the fold!!
Hi guys, Just seen I've been talked about! I'm the green 2.0 owning guitarist from Leeds. My 480 is currently off the road at my folks over at Market Weighton, so not that far from Easingwold. It needs a few jobs doing before I can get it MOT'd which I'll be working through over the coming weeks. I'...

Re: Horn connectors
Looks like it's all coming off then. There's a hell of a lot of corrosion on the loose connector despite the rubber covers. It'll be the only way to test everything and see what's going on with connectors. Couldn't make an intermittent connection work whilst my Dad pressed the horn so gonna be easie...

Re: Horn connectors
Hmm, that would make sense but it's not looking like any spade connector I've seen before. I'll have another go at reseating it but I think I'll probably have to bite the bullet and take it it all apart so I can actually see what I'm doing

Horn connectors
Does anyone know what the horn connectors should look like? I've started to get my 2.0 back on the road. When the last theft attempt was made they obviously disabled the alarm by yanking out one of the connectors. This is what I've got (kind of L shaped assuming the picture link doesn't work) and it...

Re: Front passenger window glass required
All done with a minimum of fuss. Thanks again.
The weatherstrip is not in the best condition anymore though. Can anyone recall which of the V series seals you can cut down and make fit?
Am I remembering that right?

Re: Front passenger window glass required
That's fantastic cheers.
A minor point though. That diagram looks like the glass is being inserted from the outside rather from the inside.
The rail's attached so no problem there.

Re: Front passenger window glass required
Thanks for help guys. Turns out the 480 in Bridlington still had it's glass so I'm sorted. I wanted to have a look and see what's left on it but it was a whistle stop tour as I had to get the hire car back for 5pm. Ideally I'd have taken some pics but I'm not sure it's the sort of place that let's y...

Re: Front passenger window glass required
Thanks guys, Hopefully the white 480 at the breakers in Bridlington still has it's passenger window intact. When I rang on Monday morning I was told the car guy was off till Wednesday. Hopefully I can collect it tomorrow as I'm half way there due to work anyway. If not I'll be looking as these other...

Front passenger window glass required
Some utter **** tried TWOCing my 480 the other night.
When all other attempts failed they smashed the passenger side window. Any of you lovely people got one knocking around? As ever I need it fairly urgently to get back on the road. Any leads appreciated.

Speedo sensor comparability
Does anyone know definitively whether the speedo sensors are interchangeable between the different engines or not?

Re: Green 480 York ring-road
And.... I'm back!
Yes that was me you saw. Tuesday and Wednesday I work around York and so make the journey across from Leeds.
For the record I'm not a Geography teacher! I am however a musician and would have been on my way to teach at various schools so you're not a million miles away!

Thanks Alan, if I understand you correctly you're saying just remove everything but the front panel of the holder and use that?
Thanks French Fries....I'll send a pm.

Okay here goes..... Has anyone got: Air vents . Drivers side pair plus the one by the alarm LED. Both knackered by using various cup holders etc. Don't do it kids! Once the the arm that connects the air direction fins comes free they rattle like a bastard and can't be reattached. Drivers side fog la...

Re: 480 as your only car?
My 94. 2.0 has been my only car for the last 6 years or so and has generally been very reliable. As mentioned previously if keep an eye on maintenance they'll not let you down. Admittedly I've been having problems of late all of are a result of leaving the oil filler cap off  This has meant a ...

B20F inlet manifold pipes
Could someone explain to me what the 3 pipes emanating from the top left of the B20F engine are for? Also what should they be connected to. The one nearest the front of the car always had just a piece of plastic piping over it but was essentially open. My local garage said it should blocked of (the ...

Re: Coolant temperature sensor
That's brilliant. Thanks.
Having a means of testing things without removing the IC is very useful. I'm really trying avoid that if possible!
I'll have a look but I doubt I've got anything as high as a 68ohm resisitor lying around so I'll have to order one.

Re: Coolant temperature sensor
Great. That's good to know. I'm guessing the turbo engine might run slighty hotter(?) but 99c is still well within that range.

Coolant temperature sensor
Well my 480 adventures continue! A few weeks back my water pump failed on a long incline on the M62 dumping coolant everywhere and producing much steam! Despite my thinking I'd finally killed the car one new water pump and we're back on the road but this time with a certain degree of paranoia that i...

Re: Battery polarity foul up - Urgent help needed.
Okay.....the saga continues. The replacement ECU is in and all seems well with the engine. The LCD module however.... The replacement cluster Norm gave me is an exact match for mine so all good there. Due to various issues surrounding previous repairs to my cluster I decided the best option wa...
