Hi I need to sort out something that has been a problem for a while. Right after I bougth my R5 GTE (B18E engine) it got to my knowledge that the accelerator cable was not fastened properly. Hi I wonder if anyone have removed their catalytic converter on a standard 1,7i in order to increase performance and power? Since the B18e/ft has the oxygen/lambda sensor on the exhaust manifold it will still be mounted if you remove the cat. I have installed a non catalytic exhaust system on my R5 ...

I had the same problem with my Renualt 5 GTE 1988 model. It has the F3N engine (Volvo B18ft in volvo language)

Thanks to glasgowjim's explanation I could discover that cylinder 2 and 3 were connected in opposite direction.
