Re: High torque clutch for late Turbo's + pics

Re: High torque clutch for late Turbo's + pics

i think the best experiment would be to buy a very cheap clutch and try it onto a 480 flywheel - i'm unsure! or speak VERY nicely to your local parts supplier and they might let you try it for fit I have spare flywheel here if you don't want to strip an engine  or it could be measured with th...

Mr retroleads for HT leads! https://mrretroleads.co.uk/ Although I’m slightly concerned they’re simply throwing everything at it rather than actual troubleshooting.... ditto I'd change one thing at a time, then work thorough what was changed that made the difference :o but to be fair if they start ...

Re: Engine Electrics

The questions asked, and info provided, by jifflemon and Brinkie (thank you gentlemen) led to this: Connected a spare spark plug to the distributor, put gear selector to N and turned key to 'Start'. Engine spun over but no spark. Same actions with P selected - same results. Smelled petrol so assume...

Pass side window not working. good news on the MoT if changing wishbone bushes & Ball joint, i'd just fit a whole wishbone, they come with bushes for not muckle more than 'bare', also a ru...

REAR engine mounts are NOT available, although it appears that there is an ALFA part which might fit, assuming that they are available, which might not be the casse .. . .

do a search for 'rear engine mount' and you will find the trail

£35 for that small section
its not that difficult a shape to knock up and damn little in the way of 'ill-shaped' curves etc!!!

piece of cornflakes box and sorted, sticking it in will more fun, given the area , but flip side is that it's NOT an overhead weld .. . .

I think that 'ATF' is just a catch all, Auto Transmission Fluid, kinda like saying 'engine oil' it's the code 'F' or 'G' etc that determines which type you need, similar discussion on te ScimWeb forum regarding BW 35 vs Ford C3 if the puddle is red then power steering fluid, blue/green is ant...

Re: hand-brake warning light 1993

Alan Slightly confused from your original post as to what the light is doing - first you seem to suggest it is coming on when you start and going off once engine is running (which is normal in terms of brake fluid check but it should stay on if the handbrake is on); - then handbrake light not comin...

Re: hand-brake warning light 1993

Does this light not also cover the brake fluid level sensor in the brake fluid tank? I unplugged mine to change the fluid and it lit the ABS and brake warning light beside it. Mine is a '92 though... changed over with different model years, only a SINGLE light I don't see a level sensor on side of ...

hand-brake warning light 1993

lazy question. ignition on and the 'brake warning' light comes on until engine is running. is it 12V supply at the spade connector? the handbrake warning light is not coming on regardless of hand-brake lever up or down. tried cleaning the connection where it 'pokes through' the metal frame, no help....

Re: Gas springs for the rear window

They are widely available. However...‎ My choice would be to send yours (along with the pop up light gas struts which are probably also very weak now)‎ to SGS Engineering. They will recharge yours and if they hold a pressure, send them back. If they don't hold pressure, they'll send you replacement...

Some of the guys running SD1 Rover have the same problem and sensors are expensive and hard to get. They use an after market job which attaches to the propshaft. google kit car suppliers and see if there is anything suitable. I had a temporary speedo and had a magnet fixed to drive shaft and the se...

This is the car they were talking about to you and I. I think they were very confused! I would only deal with them in person or on the phone (01480212291). I suspect email is like Star Trek to them! They should be able to post it. If not maybe pay over the phone, ask them to keep it aside and I can...

Hi, car is manual. The noise come up also in neutral gear and approx 2000 rpm , when i try to turn the steering ( with stopped car in neutral gear) The noise increase.
Possible subframe bushes?
turning steering wheel suggests to me an issue with power steering, check fluid level first?

Re: Vibration noise

is the car manual or automatic? You need to get someone to load the engine (automatic - Put in drive whilst holding the brake, Manual, hold at biting point on clutch) whilst watching the engine. the engine should move slightly - if the mount has gone, it'll leap about! I'd use REVERSE so that the m...
