Re: Brake discs and pads for Celebration
Just had the same 'problem' this week :-( SWAMBO collected the pads from our local Motor Factors (who are usually SPOT ON) but the ones in the box are the 'TEVES' ones even although they registration number was given so maybe not all the books concur (I have bought the correct ones in the past) they...

Re: new stainless steel exhaust

Re: rear bumper internals
Nigel et al spent a chunk of saturday with the MiG and angle grinder / bench guillotine etc and now have bumper back in place, lots of 'sticky' grease all over the nuts & bolt heads etc just in case I decide to remove bumper so that I can fit the tow bar (again) I reckon stronger than last week, at ...

looking for ideas on which colour 'red' our '93 two litre started out as? I have been using 'FORD' Monaco red as it was a close match (to faded paint) but sadly tin is now MT and NLA @ Halfrauds, so looking for suggestions. I reckon an old colour when bought MANY years back as it was reduced from £3...

Re: Washer level warning light
yup, remove the bulb!!!!! :D mine did teh same and is a swine to remove the tank if you check under bonnet on a regular basis, (weekly), then never need to worry about it being empty. I still do the weekly checks on all cars (even the C30) oil, coolant, power steering , brakes etc, that way you see ...

Peter
thanks for the info.
I do have access to a scope but not a spare speedo sensor so I was thinking of jacking up the front wheel when unit was all in car but before assemble EVERY thing!
mine has a small blue plug that connects the speedo unit to the main PCB (93 model)

Re: SRS light on, how can i fix it?
I tried getting the fault codes out but I reckon that my SRS is 'goosed' as there is NO CODE as in the LAST line of Jim's link ditto the ABS system does not want to play (even the guy at a garge the last time failed with his Bosch Lap-top :-( ) but as it is now fixed only the SRS to worry about ( vi...

Jim
not sure if removal of bulb WILL get an MoT pass, don't they insist that the warning bulb comes on for a few seconds when ignition is first turned on to 'prove' the warning light is operational?
that is the case with the ABS light, ie no warning light = fail

Testing Electronic Speedo
Having a few issues with the 'leccy speedo. I have tried the wiggle plugs, or just hand on back of dash-board and press, this 'used to fix it' but not recently so:- whole unit apart, speedo removed , contacts cleaned etc reassemble etc worked for a while now stopped. I can easily take the unit out b...

Re: Glasgowjim's spares list
JIm Sorry been off line for a while, Norway etc I was in past Mr MoT this week (between trips) for other car and I asked about 'advisory' on ball joints. I said typical mileage SWAMBO does and he suggested that they would still be an advisory next year! :-) in other words 'not likely a fail' BOOST :...

Re: Glasgowjim's spares list
Jim
OK I will check in case the bottom ball joints are 'year' or 'model' dependant, which I doubt
The SRS light has taken a habit of flashing on at random times and not sure whether to bother fixing it, the previouscars only had FIXED seat-belts!
air bags are if you don't wear a belt??

Re: Glasgowjim's spares list
Jim which ' Ball Joints'? do you happen to have the 'drop links' for front anti-roll-bar I need to check which side tho cos they are handed (I think). (front OFF SIDE) any idea of the model the SRS controller came from? I think that they are different for different years/models? mine is a Sept 1993 ...
