Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - A New Era Dawns

also, I need to find one of these for the pop-ups, I am tired of fixing them all the time, only for the passenger side to flip down again... https://i.postimg.cc/R0WgWWv9/IMG-4040.jpg It is a simple DIY job to fix the relay, probably cheaper than finding another: https://www.volvo-480-europe.org/fo...

Re: Overheating...coolant temperature too high...STOP!

can you get access to one of those Infra red temperature 'guns' sometimes sold in Lidl / Aldi, if you have ALdi / Lidl in Denmark?? then you can check temperature across radiator/block/pipes etc or try and get a small probe that plugs into a multi-meter and use that? 100-103 does seem rather high, o...

Re: Stolen From Bristol - Volvo 480 ES

How often do these get stolen? I know they are undesirable value wise, and they will probably never rise to very much, but how worried should I be when out and about in mine/what precautions should I take? I think, very rarely. However, given that the only real deterrent is a flashing LED, they're ...

Re: Dead battery and a busted earth lead?

Surely best option would be to run the 'new' earth lead direct down to the gearbox mounting or direct to the side of body rather than simply clamping to a rather corroded section of braiding? I doubt if you'd ever get the braid 'properly' clean  assuming that the flexible flat braid still exist...

Earlier models had a side shield both sides; later ones (at least, 2.0 l) only had one on driver's side.

If yours is missing I have a spare driver's side one...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Hopefully clearing those tubes will help future floods. It is weird that the engine should look wet. Are the seals present from this picture?‎ ‎ https://i.postimg.cc/YCs9Xx4b/Seals.jpg I think the grey ones were not on earlier cars, but you should definitely have the black ones at the back of the e...

I used 3m77 adhesive.

Once down, used a paint roller to make sure all the wrinkles were out, then Laid out to dry “upside down”

quick update

local motor factors have litre bottles of COMMA 75 / 80 gear oil with GL4 on label £5 plus VAT!! which seems cheaper than 'on-line' prices
