Hithis is my first post so i hope i have done it ok. How do you know if your car has heated seats? I can't find any buttons to turn on the rear seats at all. AFAIK rear seats are never heated in a stock vehicle, only front. Still I wouldn't be surprised if someone somewhere had taken the trouble to...

This is old but, are there any more repair instructions for these heater pads. Removing the seat is fine but how do I go about finding the problem if it is in the heater pads? Disconnect seat from wiring loom, insert voltmeter in seat half of plug, check for continuity. If OK, the trouble is in the...

after market electrical antenna?
Hi guys, Recently some moron broke the antenna off my car, so I'll have to get another one. I was thinking of using an universal electrical antenna this time instead of the stick that my car came with. Has anybody tried that before? Will it fit, or should I try and find a used volvo one? Do they run...

..if you want to gis' an idea on how to pull it apart to get to the bulb that would be great ;) What made all the difference to me was to realize that it's the button and plunger that comes off, and not only the actual button. If you grasp it by the plunger (as I did first) you will fear breaking t...

Hazard lights button - what bulb to use?
So I finally discovered how to pull to make the button come apart to reveal the bulb, only to discover that an exact replacement bulb isn't available. According to the owner's manual (not Haynes!) it's supposed to be a 0.36 W bulb as opposed to the 1.2 W bulb used frequently elsewhere in the car. Th...

Anyone know where the earth for the fogs is? Well, in my car there are two major front earthing points, one immediately to the side of the windscreen washer tank on the engine bay side of the right fender, then one on the left side that runs straight through the grounding strap from the battery. I ...

It does? On all the models? I've pulled and pried like crazy on mine and I can't even see where the parts are meant to split apart.pol wrote:Hazard light... You can do as i did and take it to pieces, making springs go everywhere, only to realise that the button cap actually pulls off to reveal the bulb!

..How do u actually strip the seat down? Does it mean taking the whole seat out the car? :( It's far easier that way. You need a set of torx bits to remove the seats, then the "skin" is held on by small wire clamps. Cut them off and use cable ties at reassembly. If you insist on doing the least pos...

.. Now the problem is my Long range lights dont work... First time the long range lights gave up on me it was due to a wiring problem. I had to run a new lead from the light selector switch (the knob) to the relay socket to get it working again. Next time it was because I'd been using 80/100 W lamp...

...you've got to remove push down relays bracket under the hood and try to reach 3rd screw. But of course! I've removed that one before to sort out another electrical issue, but hadn't thought about using it for reaching down like that. Must still be quite a challenge to remove/install the connecto...

So I ripped out the seat, got the flashlight going and poked my head in underneath the dash. Removed some panels and had a look at the notorious CEM. Now, this is a car for the Swedish market, so the CEM is only marginally visible behind the wiring loom for steering column and such. And I do...

indicators - relay clicking but no lights
Hi guys, It's been a while since I visited here, but now I could do with some help. I can hear the relay going but actual lamp action is best described as random, I get a few blanks (click w/o blink), then I get a couple of clicks with full function, then blanks again. Earlier this could be "fixed" ...

Hi Guys, just a message to let you know I succeeded in changing all 6 locks on my Volvo 480 :) Thanks for the info provided ! You know that it's possible to re-code the locks, do you? Re: Wheel Arch Rust Prevention
Just wandering what it is everyone uses to stop their wheel arches rusting. It's that awful double-layer lip pointing inwards that's the problem. When replacing my arches I simply didn't bother with rebuilding that inner layer, and I cut the outer one considerably narrower than before. After that I...
