Volvo 480 Club Europe

hi all, i have a volvo 480 and have a slight problem that materialised last week in that the hand brake does not work at all, it dont seem to be broken still feels like it bites but does not stop the wheels from moving at all, basically what i am asking is, is there a way i can just tighten the hand...
