Dead battery and a busted earth lead?

Hello everyone, I've been really quiet since my last post but in that time I've had my rear arches redone, some other work and a respray and Bunny is looking glorious. The only problem after all that was the dash gave up completely, but thanks to the brilliant guides on this forum I have taken the d...

Re: Wondering if I should put my car in storage...

Thank you so much for the advice everyone. I think the conclusion I've come to is yes, it would be good to take her off the road over winter but only if she's in a good state in the first place and if I can put her in a cosy garage and monitor her regularly. I should have said that I only have on st...

Wondering if I should put my car in storage...

I don't know where this idea came from exactly but I'm wondering if I should put my car in storage over the winter months. I want to keep her going for as long as I can, and I'm aware that she's getting rustier and heavens knows I could do with doing a lot of repair jobs that I can't don't have the ...

Maroon/burgandy 480 outside Snape, Suffolk

Seen 2 weeks ago. Saw it zoom past whilst in the back of a V70 waiting to pull out of a side road. Squealed with joy and yelled, "look! look!! A Bunny!!" mildly confusing the other occupants. First 480 I've seen on the road (that's not been mine) in what must be 6 years...

Re: The Adventures of the White Rabbit

Thank you for the advice Alan and Jim! Sorry that's been a while coming. I haven't got around to doing anything yet I must admit. We made it down to Suffolk and back though! The only new problem that seems to have arisen are the blowers - that is they don't really. Coming back up from Saxmundham the...

Re: The Adventures of the White Rabbit

Well the good news is that Bunny passed her MOT! After failing it of course. I have also got a list of to do's from the garage - have a look and if anyone has any suggestions or thoughts about the work they think needs doing let me know! http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/s612/juie2/1460054416734_z...

The Adventures of the White Rabbit

10 years ago, when I was a mere 21 year old, I fulfilled my then life's ambition and made my very first car a 480. Having grown up with 340s, a 440 and a V70 I got the cool Volvo my parents never bought. She was called Baby, and she was flippin' fantastic. http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/s612/ju...

Alpine headunit, ipod connector and 4 speakers for sale

As I managed to sell my pride and joy recently I now have her old stereo for sale. I upgraded from the factory fitted system to an Alpine CDE 9880r head unit with the connector cable for iPod, 2 SXE1350s and 2 SXE1325 speakers, to fit front and rear respectively. This was an excellent system and pre...

Re: Possibly for sale: subframe

Thanks gingerheed, I think I'm definitely just going to sell her has a whole car, the new subframe isn't proving very attractive to people. Expense to be honest - I recently bought a house and now I can't afford anything any more. I can't afford the insurance. Or to fix ongoing issues. Or the fuel s...

Possibly for sale: subframe

I have come into the very sad position of having to sell my beloved 480. There are a few things wrong with it now and as a full car I'm not sure I would get much money for it, but I did have the subframe replaced in early 2008 (a brand new one at a rough cost of £1300, I truly love that car). I am ...

Success! Have now swapped the old tweeters out for the new ones. The doors are all ready to be put back together and I've got a cup of tea :D Thank you for the guide kev, I actually managed it with some of my dad's help but it was exactly as you said, so thanks anyway. I also can't quite believe how...

I have actually removed the screws that hold the handle in and it didn't budge. I only took out the screws at either end. Are there others or is the handle glued in?

Impressive build there Cerberus! Which also makes me note that I don't have any crossover boxes - my cheapy speakers or just the design? The speakers I bought for the front are Alpine SXE-1350S - which are indeed component speakers with separate tweeters. I have to say my idea to replace the tweeter...
