Hi,

No mega fuse on my one, checked continuity between battery and alternator and all seems to be fine, same goes for the negative.

The only bit thats confusing me is the battery light thing?

no Charge

Hi, The alternator on the 480 was replaced at the beginning of the year. Now, we have found that there is no charge at all from the output of the alternator. We have just sourced a second one and yet again no output, we have also replaced the regulator with a new item but still nothing. Incidentally...

When i tested the old reg, it was putting out 11.5v and the battery light terminal 12.5....

another charging prob

After the car lost its ability to charge last week, i sourced and fitted a new regulator. The car is now charging at 13.5 v at idle, which rises ot 15v at 3k rpm. The battery light is constantly on, and glows brighter the harder the car is revved?

Any ideas?

little charge

Hi guys, after driving the 480 for the 1st time in about 2-3 months, all was well until the battery light started to come on feintly. Looking at the voltmeter, it was a lot lower than it usually is. On getting home, i checked it all out with a mm and found the battery voltage to be around 11.5 and t...

oscilating idle

A strange thing happened last week. The car lost its normal idle completely. It would rev from 1000-2000 every second without fail. I unplugged the IACV, this had no effect. however, when i plugged the outlet pipe of the iacv (the pipe that goes to the inlet manifold) it idles normally. Now i source...

I have like a digital newton meter, ive used this for other cars...should it be used for the volvo?

Cheers

well nothing is working on mine at the mo, however, ive not checked to see if the actual headlamps flash in their down position.

My old mazda's popup's went up for the full beam flashes... quite cool.

With the headlight switch in the off position, should you be able to flash you full beam using the indicator stalk like on other cars, cos i get nothing?

rough idle fixed

Hi guys, i think ive cured the bad running on the turbo today. I sourced a used oil separator, as the pipe on mine was cracked in half. After fitting the replacement one, my idle was back to normal and the performance was greatly improved!!! Also got a used rear light cluster. The best £20 ive spen...

yeah, thats my end goal, is to get the ECU done by Rich..

In the short term though i want it all run spot on first. I had a 9000 aero a few years back and that had been remapped by the previous owner to cure a turbo problem, which ovcourse it didnt. Made it worse!!

Hi Steve, thanks for the info.

I was aiming for quite a firm ride and a decent drop. so the firmer the better :D Will have to have a close inspection of the rears though as theres a really loud creaking coming from there each time the car moves...
