Mine goes on and of quite quick too. It's been like this since I've bought it, and yes compared to a V70 or other type of Volvo it's really flashy!

I've managed to fix it myself, fortunately with a lot of patience and being careful. But what a mess to get everything loosened up. The plastic is so fragile that opening up the cover made me a bit nervous. But I managed to have the joint soldered and some others too out of precaution. Thank you Ed ...

In 1995 the estate got - with the restyling - independent rear suspension too --> But from the beginning fitted on al saloons. Interiorpanels changed too from 1995 with better materials/upholstery --> to make it a little more distinctive. Earlier models (uptil 95 there were only 3.0 24v-engines) are...

VEM dismantling
Hi, great to see you've succeeded! Unfortunately it looks like the bad solder joint paid me a visit too... grrr I've been trying to take the VEM out of the dash, but after unscrewing every screw I see, it still sticks like glue.. :badmood: What to do for example with the cable linked to the airtempe...

Earthcable
It's usually dirt and corrosion that causes bad connections, so rubbing the connectors with something robust (steelbrush) can help out. With my S it was a solderjoint on the back of the instrumentpanel. A change to an infocentre can help solving the trouble too, but then you'd need some extra sensor...

Fuelgauges S-type
Hi Wedge69, I read your trouble with the fuelgauge. I've had similar problems on mine, but things can be easily solved. There are two possibility's (or in combination) 1. Check the earth-cable on the gearbox 2. Check the solderjoints at the back of the instrumentcluster. Some might be old or broken,...

Will the windowswitches of an 850 fit too, as you said the connections were (already) a little different between 460 and a 480? I've read something before on this forum, but couldn't find the answer to it.

Illuminated switches and seatbelt-holders
Who can show me pictures of the illuminated window-switches and illumination of the seatbelt holders?
And does anyone know for sure if the 850 window-switches fit?
Greets and best regards,
Robert

Engine Temp
I read 78 degrees on the engine temp and for 3/4 of a year it won't go up, except for in nice weather. The thermostat appears to be okay though... Opening and closing. Anyone have a suggestion, cause I find it a bit too cold. BTW it's a 2.0ltr fitted with Aircon.

My Volt-meter shows the needle up to the red area, it's just not there but really close. Is it time to change a regulator or so, or is it okay?

telephone mute CR-906 --> Installing
Who can tell me if the Volvo CR-906 radio-series have an auto-mute function on them, and if so to which wire do I have to connect the auto-mute function of the carkit when installing it?
I've read there was difficulty, but didn's see if this is the case with Volvo's own radios.
Grtz, Robert

Hi there,
I once read someone taking out 850-switches that are illuminated too, but don't blow once installed in a 480. Perhaps worth trying!
Goodluck,
Robert

Voltmeter
Thanks Chris! You´re right, the oil pressure meter is just around 1 bar at idle, though the voltmeter is showing 16 volts permanently, so it has to be a faulty wire or something. I don´t think the gauge is malfunctioning because of it showing 16 Volt. When malfunctioning it would show none at all ...
