Re: For Sale: Richmod ECU (orange)
Still availble. Two forum members were interested, but after discussing the price incl. shipping they didn't respond to any message anymore (waited more than two weeks).

Re: Sensor question
It is a heater element. To prevent formation of ice in the winter from condensed water vapour from the breather. You can imagine what would happen if a piece of ice falls into the turbo.

The plastic pipe piece on top of the oil seperator shouldn't be there. There should be a valve instead, which also had two pipes. On should be connected to the hose like in the picture. The other should be connected to the plugged opening in the manifold, underneath the hose from the idle valve. Don...

Re: Rear Lights - Few Questions
The earth of the rear lights is underneath the left rear light. There is an earthpoint, which can be corroded if water has leaked on it. It can also be a bad connection in the connector to the light units itself. The lights should come out when you remove the three nuts. But if the lights are sealed...

Re: MK1 ABS problem
I hope this problem is already solved, but otherwise: When I had problems with my '89 turbo's ABS, this what I experienced. Purely ABS problems: only (ABS) light turned on. Brakefluid problems: (!) and (ABS) light turned on. When there is a problem with the brake fluid level (too low OR too high) it...

Re: why wont you idle you b*****d!
Has anyone tried this with the old style idle valves? I have a idle valve that has the air inlet after the intercooler. I also have a new air hose after the MAF with the, at this moment plugged off, hole for the new type hose to the idle recirc valve. Can I convert the old system to the new one, usi...

I've installed the cheap sensor last week. Removing the old sensor was quite difficult, as it was stuck solid and required a lot of force to make the first whole turn. It was still the original one, 93000km and 15 years rusted in place. The new sensor works really well with the 2L engine. After some...

A short question that fits more in this topic than in a new one: To loosen (or tighten) the pulley bolt, you have to make sure the crankshaft doesn't rotate. Is it possible to use the inserted drillbit to lock the crankshaft for this purpose? Or is the drillbit part only for holding the crankshaft a...

I think it has nothing to do with having an infocenter or not. This CC computer is for cars of the Volvo 400 series with a mechanical speed signal. The 480 uses an electronical speed signal, with or without infocenter. If you have an 480S, you can swap the dash for one with an infocenter (and addin...

4 remove the black plastic housing from around the steering wheel by loosening the two crosspoint screws and unclipping each side http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd271/glasgowjim/raffa/raffa014.jpg Remember there is a third screw/bolt which is at the underside of the cover. I've ordered one of the cheap sensors just to check how well it will work. If I dies after 10k km then I'll buy a better one. Here is a picture of the cheap sensor (left) next to the Bosch LS02 (right). The Bosch one is used and dead due to a broken wire to the heater, and therefore a bit black. htt...
