Re: Auxilliary cooling pump switch

Roy, let me know if you get nothing by the weekend, my parts car is in another county and can only check at the weekend. I do know for sure it has an aux pump.

Re: Heater matrix hose replacement

That wiggly f****r blew up on me too. I got a second hand one but was considering making it up from universal stuff from ASAP Supplies. I guess you have noticed that the ends are different sizes and it originally had a metal heat protection sleeve due to proximity to the exhaust manifold. Yes, the ...

Heater matrix hose replacement

Hi All, What's the best option when replacing this now discontinued hose, do I need to get a replacement with the cuffed end on it. This is the pipe coming from the heater matrix at the firewall joining the steel pipe with the beaded end. https://i.imgur.com/N3KJqhl.jpg This is the leaky pipe. https...

Re: Any suggestions?

An accumulated NCB can only rest on one policy at a time, Only time I've ever transferred an NCB was from a Rep of Ireland policy to a UK policy and that was due to the fact the company operated in both countries. I don't have my 480 on a classic policy (this allows the accumulation of a second poli...

Re: Lanoguard - anyone used it as rustproofing?

Jeff - you have recommended Bilt Hamber S50 cavity wax in the past. Does treating with Lanoguard (or something similar) first and then following up soon after with a cavity waxing sound logical? If there's one thing you can't have enough of, its rust prevention! Most cars rot from the inside out. W...

I've done my 480 (R3) , front to back with the spray and the grease, was done during the warm few weeks, and appears to be doing a great job so far.

Re: Laurie - '94 480 GT - Racing Green Metallic

Deliberation yesterday. The weather was glorious. After cleaning the GT, I found a few splits in the plastic; one being on the front grill (my old one had split in a few places), and the rear wiper bolt cover. Hopefully a bit of CA or epoxy should sort those out. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535...

David
I really appreciate all the nice comments from everyone, as 480 ownerships go this has been one of the most enjoyable given the results and the overall condition of the car to start with.

Horn going off

Hi All, Car is locked via central locking the horn after a few moments will start to sound, its as if someone is very gently trying to activate it. Not a constant sounding. Car is unlocked and after a few minutes the same activity continues. Seems the only way to prevent this (without disconnecting ...

All good now, nice healthy 13.8v. The little spade connector that plugs into the regulator was frazzled, its been stripped soldered and refitted. During my checks the earth from battery to body was corroded and pretty much fell out of the connector so that's replaced too. Thanks all for the excellen...
