Had been thinking somewhere in the region of £650 for the car along with the various bits and pieces of spares that I've acumulated/aquired - brand new, never used front number plate holder; brand new, never used fuse box; spare spot lights, mirror switches, leccy window switches; complete, worki...

FOR SALE - 1995 2.0 S

Hi all I listed this a while ago ( March this year ) then lost all hope when it required brake pipes and some welding. Enter the Brother in Law who has garage and welder. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l297/kennymac_01/Volvo/480.jpg Car is now (as of today) MOT'ed (12 months) and Taxed (6 months)...

OK folks, bad news (for me that is) When checking the brakes the other day prior to booking the 480 in for an MOT, i found a leaking brake pipe (BU**ER!), went to replace the brake pipe yesterday, found a small hole in the inner sill - big enough to poke your finger in (just) - but a hole just...

I replaced the DRL bulb holders with spare stop/tail bulb holders (as the bulbs are easier to obtain) all worked ok - no probs with pop-ups/bulb failure system. If you are having problems with the bulb failure system after fitting LED's, this is because the LED draws much less current than a convent...

Re: 480 for sale

Location - Ardrishaig, Argyll is a tad far for a non roadwoerthy 480. Shame. Unless I visit my piece of land (as a laird) in Achosnich I am unlikely to tread so far north. PS I see that ref to your instruments is below a post of mine! Many thanks for reply Steve Yeah, it is a bit far for you right ...

Haven't realy thought too much about price yet, as I said in the original posting though, the car is currently SORNed and out of MOT, my intention is (hopefully) to MOT it before sale as it shouldn't take much, but reasonable offers considered. Otherwise: Location - Ardrishaig, Argyll Info Centre - ...

Basically sound, needs a little tidying up. Iv'e fitted ES alloys, info centre and front fogs. Good tyres and everything works (to the best of my recollection).

As a material source try taking a leaf from the autocrossers book - Road Signs, not the flimsy little triangular things at road works but the hulking big MF's that tell you what road goes where, they are made from a high quality (so a coded welder once told me) alloy that is both strong and light. A...

When the lens came of one of my long range driving lamps, I just used ordinary clear silicon sealant such as you would buy in a DIY shop (just make sure its the stuff that smells of vinegar and not the acrylic stuff, as the acrylic is water based) and it worked a treat, you just have to make sure ev...

I'd guess it's the engine temp sensor - the one on the front of the head J My 2.0l had this same problem a few months ago, the two wires to the temp sensor on the front of the head had broken and the ECU didn't know what temp the engine was at - result it ran like a bucket of bolts. Once I'd splice...

Must be a mid-life crisis job (old dude, doesn't like the rain), they don't usually leave the bodywork on the beetle when they convert them, they usually scavenge the engine, 'box etc and junk the rest. Definately different though, and, in a strangely worrying sort of way, quite cool actually. :? Ke...

Personally I'd go green, as blue (while it looks realy good) has been done to death every illuminated accessory you see has blue lighting of some sort. Also green is very 'factory fit'.

I haven't got round to fitting it yet, partly because I spend a fair bit of my time on the M8 studying bootlid badges on cars (don't know quite how I haven't hit anyone yet!) and am now contemplating getting an S40 and an S80 bootlid badges and combining the requisite parts to make 480S, I too like ...

Re: Problem with Power Transmisson

i have just bought a brand new record player, only thing is, i plug it in and my record doesnt go round. i think its a problem with the power transmission between the plug in the wall and the record player itself. i think its called a cable. i did discuss this with my fellow members at lincs, but t...

I would have liked the red bars at the bottom of the fuel gauge with the new words around the IC. Other than that, I think the old font is much clearer and less fussy. Mines a 88 and i like the way it looks, however i dont heave the two red bars in bottom of fuel indicator. Must say i would like mi...
