Hey Dan, yes it came from a chap in Oulton Broad.

To all: The car has now been sold to someone very local, so I'll be seeing her still, and probably still getting my hands dirty.

No, the car came with Orange clusters. I bought it in May last year.

Of course new front lights were on the to-do list :-)

Though they weren't leaking water into the car so the back ones came first :)

FOR SALE - 1994 480GT: Unfinished Project

Morning folks, posted on here before but I really must throw in the towel on my 480 project, as I'm getting a new job soon, and losing my company car, need something more solid that doesn't need lots of jobs doing :-) Anyway, oh where to start! The good bits: Bodywork and chassis are sound Electrics...

Trouble is, the car is stood in my driveway at the moment, has no MOT and is in bits! So can't take it to a bodyshop I guess I could fibre it now, and get the welding done later. I'm planning to waxoyl and treat the whole underneath and nether regions of my car, are there any other nasty surprises I...

Heh mines not that bad, I was referring more to the backet on the inner side that has 2 screws from the archguard going into it, they dissintegrated! One came off, leaving a small hole in the bottom of my boot! Should I weld it up, or apply rustkiller, and some Fibreglass? The hole is the size of a ...

When was the last time you took your Wheelarch covers out?

Evening folks, been working on my 480GT lately, all the screws that hold in my wheelarch covers are rusted in solid, anyone who hasn't changed theirs already, I'd strongly Recommend it! Also, look behind the rear wheelarch cover, you're in for a nasty rusty surprise!

To all:

Think I'll do what that chap says above, disconnect the battery and sit on it for a while. She's currently sitting in our front garden but has a car cover over her.

Just snagged some new boot struts anyway so will have fun fitting those :-)

Hehe I'm not interested in it being broken for parts, she's a nice motor.

Just a bit worried about leaving it standing, probably won't be able to start working on her for 4 or 5 months yet.

Buying new Rear light clusters...

Hey folks, on the weekend I decided to take out my rear light clusters, to try and tidy them up (Last owner caked them in with silicone) Anyhoo they were leaking, unfortunately I broke one of them whilst talking them out, so now might be a good time to change the whole lot, as they're looking quite ...

Big Service at main Volvo Dealer.

Hey folks, been thinking about getting my 480 in to the local main dealer for a 'big service' Does anyone know if they re-shim the tappets on a large service, the haynes book says they need doing every 48,000 miles but I doubt mine have ever been done, and my engine does rattle more than another 2.0...

FOR SALE - 1994 Red GT

Hey folks, bit of an unfinished project, so here goes. Got the car a year ago, it's in good shape, Everything works apart from a few bits that I'll mention below ABS controller needs replacing (I think) The paintwork needs looking at, no rust but it's been under a tree(by the previous owner) Suspens...

hmm looks like a good idea, might have to do that on my car.

Can't help thinking the 13.5s you can fit in the standard hole are a bit inadequate, I've got a sub but there's some bass missing. What's the largest speaker I can fit in the rear boxes using powertools? heh.

Hey Tipper, I've read your thread but my rubber bungs have already been removed, so it's not water coming in through the fan, bonnet drains are clear and it's bone dry around them. I don't think it's rainwater coming in, as the carpet isn't any wetter as yet, despite the large amount of rainfall ove...
