My guess is that the relay on the circuit board, behind the dashboard, is stuck.
I have had the same problem, had to disconnect earth on the battery when I parked
All the instrumentation was lit when I turned the key.

Re: PC fan for increasing boost
Well, you might be right Jim. I can see your point. But it's good to ventilate (no pun intended) one's ideas in here. Thank's guys, hope you don't think I've lost it (crazy Swede )

Re: PC fan for increasing boost
The fan would always be rotating, sucking air trough the air filter. I can't se how that would obstruct anything. One issue would be to regulate the speed according to the engine revs. Anyways, I will test it and let you know

Re: PC fan for increasing boost
Why not? (almost offended )
People put in adjustable fuel pressure regulators to increase fuel injection.
A processor cooler fan would do the same, increase air flow.
Theoretically it is exactly the same function.
Now it only remains to be tested.

PC fan for increasing boost
I am planning to mount a PC processor fan into the air intake on my -92 480 turbo and se what it does  If I put it between the air filter housing and the air mass meter, the increased air flow would be measured by the AMM and the petrol injection should be adjusted accordingly. Would it work?...

Re: ABS MKII flash code 3-4
Fixed it! It was a faulty flywheel sensor. After replacing it works fine.

ABS MKII flash code 3-4
Hi! I've been neglecting this forum for more than a year now, but I still hope someone in here would help me with my ABS problem :) My 480 turbo -92 has a MKII ABS controller in the boot. The flash code reads 3-4 indicating "Signal missing" from LH rear wheel sensor. Could I measure the connections ...

Great news that! You finally beat the MOT-man (or is it the MOTH-man, that's a scary sequence too ;-)) I rather go to the dentist than to the MOT-man. I feel very uneasy when there is that tapping and knocking under my car all the time. And if he stops for a while and then continues, I'm always sure...

I could'nt agree more :!: This forum (and the Swedish one) is to where I turn with my problems. My garage (not Volvo  ) only solves the things I don't have the guts or means to do myself, like cam belt replacement. For the electrics, adjustments and fault analysis, I always trust the help of t...

Yes, indeed. Only two previous owners, a father and then his daughter. Guess that makes it a family car  The Swedish word "kopplingsanordning" means tow bar. It's the same tow bar as described in T_W's HowTo at this link: http://volvo480.dragons.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14524 At first, whe...
