Thanks for the advice, will remember it...the "step" on the back of the van literally scraped the paint, quite gently in fact, no force...I stood and helplessy watched the whole event!!!

into the back of my car today, Delivery driver, reversing without looking hit under the bumper and made a small scrape in the bumper...I was stood waiting to get into the car when he drove past me (and the car) only to reverse with me staring at his face in his left mirror. Natural reaction I punche...

doing mine at the moment, having a quick break...hairdryer is essential and makes it really easy. use white spirit to get rid of the sticky residue. Just waiting to polish...I will add some pics to my link below when completed!! I think its looks better, a little more classy and not quite such an 80...

I fixed this with my car today. Used a Car jack to support and tightened those grub nuts as tight as possible. Door shuts as good as new now!!!

I now use the local carwash, it does not have brushes, but thin lengths of spongy cloth, does a damn good job.....and I get to stay in the car, in the warm!!!..cost nearly £7 for the top one!!!!

Pol, this stalling does seem to be connected to the steering, but only when reversing, having said that, I will try slow forward direction tight turning to see if that has the same effect. Haven't had time to check anything on the car yet, not even fluids, but will on my next day off - Tuesday!!! Ho...

no problems at all getting in reverse and reversing, it is when clutch is depressed and gear engaged across to first, noticed as the steering wheels suddenly becomes real heavy!!

Apart from this I am having no problems!!

Agreed, but like 480s, at that age the selection is smaller, too easy to get bad model...lol ;)

Stalls in reverse...often

My car stalls in reverse, usually when parking, just as I am about to engage first..stall, restarts fine...

any ideas where to start, have replaced distributor cap and arm, plugs are bosche 4's...other than that no probs.
