Re: Getting temperamental to select gears

Thanks, Jim. It's a 1990, Manual, 1799cc ( 17 something?) Can't check the gearbox number as it's back now and off the hoist. The chappie says it's def the left side axle seal, looks to be neoprene, sits in the gearbox, about 50/70mm diameter. I can take it back tomorrow and hoist to get the tag if y...

Re: New Zealand Earthquake

Not wanting to sound like I'm banging on, but we're now the fifth most costly earthquake ever. Well, we've just passed the 700 number for quake aftershocks. Still rockin'!! Site below if of interest. Personal details and stories with map. Lots to see. http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/canterbury...

No better here. Sadly, worse. Emergency state just announced has be renewed and extended to next Wednesday. Massive aftershock this morning. 21 quake/shocks over night. Geo site here. http://www.geonet.org.nz/ Haven't had much sleep, but there's heaps of folk far worse off than us. We're OK and not ...

Re: Front fog light needed.

Not at all a tool type person. Anyway, had the car on the hoist during getting its 6 month road warrant, got the broken lens glass mostly out but left all the upper glass in situ as didn't want to "force" anything. So far haven't seen any clips. The lower glass was held in by some sort of sealant. A...

Battery drain?

Have had a look back here, but can’t see similar, but it’s probably been asked before. My 1990 es hasn’t been retaining battery power consistently. Batt is about 2-3 years old. Car will often start OK after sitting in garage for say 3 days. Then after a single overnight in garage, will juuuuus...

Re: Front fog light needed.

Hello.
Jim has me all sorted. Great. Now, all we have to do is get paypal sorted for him.
As said before. Us far away 480's in the bloody freezing South Pacific wouldn't keep going without you lot back there.
Thanks.

Re: Front fog light needed.

So nobody in the entire club has one? I don't want the thing for free or freight paid. I'll pay a reasonable price. Else only alternative is to remove the broken one and the goodun, chop the wires. Our WOF' testers are pedantic pricks. Will be a shame to see her without a couple of front teeth, but ...
