When the guy at the garage told me i was a bit suspicous `til he showed me the gloop in the header tank. Its a pretty honest garage. I did drive her for about 10 minutes with "STOP" on the display

Thanks for the help, guys. Unfortunatly after having her checked out at the garage she`s a lot worse than i thought, the radiator is shot and the head gasket has blown. fuel econ & cold weather

Ever since the weather has turned really cold my fuel economy has been complete shite, sitting in idle(around 950-1000rpm) is beyond a joke, even got out at one point to check for a leak!!!
Any ideas?

What makes the Volvo screwdriver so special is that the shaft is made of lead so that it bends easily and the handle is made of a special compound that stops you getting a good grip on it :D

480 es 1990 57k miles. Has been running well, no problems. Opened electric locks this morning, fastened seatbelt, turned ignition, a microsecond illumination of day running lights, then nothing. Totally nothing. No clicks, no power. Dead. New battery fitted 3 weeks ago. Awaiting this forums excelle...

Ive used 95ron in my 1990 480 since i got it and has always run perfecty fine on it. The only time i had a problem was when my wife put Asda fuel in it, it might have been my imagination but it felt unresponsive and jerky.

The stereo is a VDO Dayton CR3300, it came with the car so i have no installation instructions only the user guide that i downloaded, it has iso plugs on the back(but no iso adapter, the wires have been cut and crimped together).
