Volvo 480 Club Europe

Its been sat there for ages, JayTee, i pass twice a day. Its got a for sale sign in the window, was thinking of having a look as my 480 is sat dead in my drive.

When the guy at the garage told me i was a bit suspicous `til he showed me the gloop in the header tank. Its a pretty honest garage. I did drive her for about 10 minutes with "STOP" on the display

Ever since the weather has turned really cold my fuel economy has been complete shite, sitting in idle(around 950-1000rpm) is beyond a joke, even got out at one point to check for a leak!!!

Always wondered, who decides when a car is a classic and what does it have to do to earn the title?

Ive used 95ron in my 1990 480 since i got it and has always run perfecty fine on it. The only time i had a problem was when my wife put Asda fuel in it, it might have been my imagination but it felt unresponsive and jerky.

Anyone know the colour coding for the wires to the stereo(which wire does what, etc..), i have speaker coding sorted just not sure about the rest. The stereo is a VDO Dayton CR3300, it came with the car so i have no installation instructions only the user guide that i downloaded, it has iso plugs on the back(but no iso adapter, the wires have been cut and crimped together).

My radio has speed dependent volume control(raises and lowers with the speed of the car) but its not connected, does anyone know how to connect it up or even if you can on a 480?
