Re: Harmonica in the fuel tank

Mine started doing this after a longer drive about 8 months after I got it. Usually, as long as I didn’t let the range drop below 100 miles left in the tank, it didn’t happen. And it was a case of ‘it’s not broken, don’t need to fix it’. It was all working fine just awful whine if low. I think I’ve ...

Re: Any C30 owners?

I Used to have a 2013 2L petrol. I would get another ....but diesel. I had an issue with mine. Around 60k when I bought it from Volvo Selekt and I was told a year later that it probably needed a new engine and it was using a lot of oil. (still on the road though) I enjoyed it and it was a nice break...

Re: 1994 Volvo 480 Turbo Diary - Half an Update November 2023

I know I’ve said this lots of times but I promise 2 or 3 of those £1 dehumidifiers sat in the car Oct-April, if you don’t have other facilities (carcoon/heated garage), make a world of difference to the interior. :D Probably only need replacing once. The first winter I had my last 480 the interior g...

Re: International Meet up - 17/18/19 May 2024 - Bruggen

Hello. Of the UK people signed up to attend, have any of you decided or booked up your method of crossing the channel ? Ferry from Hull seems quite expensive. Cheers, Richard. From Hull includes overnight sailing so standard cabin included each way I think. Leaves around 8pm get's back around 7/8am...

WillC9303, I did not know about the spoiler! Now I'm on the hunt! Does anyone know where I could find some original floor mats? Or if not, which 'custom' supplier is worth contacting? There are quite a few. Jeff has recommended one a few times, not sure if this one: https://www.carmats-uk.com/p/vol...

Re: 480 car covers

I'm with Sylvia; the Carcoon is excellent for preservation. You can get indoor ones that are slightly cheaper as they don't use the same materials as necessary for outdoors. I bought mine from Demon Tweeks but it looks like they have somewhat of a wait at present if you are in a rush. There is a use...

Re: I am considering buying a C30/V40

I've had a couple of older V40s (S reg and 02 plate). Useful, probably reliable and decent lifespan. Cheap. My last one (I think diesel) was quite expensive to insure though. Could be due to changing to it part-way through a policy and not being able to shop around though. I've had a 2.0L R-Design C...

I’ve been to this a few years ago. Good chance to get a look underneath to check things out if you want too. We found a coolant leak!

Listing on FarceBook reads 'Sold' now... Go on, who bought it? :) There is a listing just gone up for a storm grey Celebration being broken on eBay. Have reason to believe it's the same car. :( Yup. Looks like they really know what they're doing with taking that lot on. :bla: I thought it was all '...

Deffo not in a 480 but being fat and happy sounds 50% better than my current state. A day in a Cambridge sounds a do-able distance for me/us.

Two-Tone, Bucks.

As the wonderful Rik Mayall said; “Steep? It’s effing vertical!”

Sales need to rise in line with the advertised prices.

I remember looking into this and potentially searching for a buyer in the US when I was selling mine. I can’t remember everything but there is a LOT of prep work to do. There were varying prices from about £1200-£2000 and whether you want to car in a container or roll on/roll off. Whether you use a ...
