Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Brace yourselves for the influx of 480 buyers.

This magazine is vastly distributed, I’m sure!

At least we can file it under ‘positive articles’. Seeing as it was about number plates! We got away with sneaking a 480 into the pages. ;)

Re: Number Plates

I'll see your satchel carrying ways and (sadly) raise you! I found myself also looking for 80's bus photos and.... lo and behold..... on eBay was a "bus spotters" old collection of negatives and photos containing E87KGV. Snapped them all up! I'll be the first to admit, i'll struggle to remember fam...

Number Plates

Just as I thought looking for 1980s local bus images for a friend for Christmas was as satchel carrying as I got, I happened upon this nice list of number plate reference. I know many of you will be fully aware of all these but I didn't know the last two letters on a prefix plate were it's area of o...

Re: The Wolf roams

I shall have to get a plaque installed on the dash for this rare occurrence of the info centre being correct, I did whisper into the cluster "I'm sorry I doubted you" when I was driving home.. I can imagine doing just that! Always a light tap of praise on the steering wheel when you get to an...

 Yay. Just the one, please!

I thought about asking for one from a scrap car but then....that would leave one missing if anyone wanted the whole unit!

Cigarette Lighter

Hi All

Woke up with mission. :D

Does anyone happen to have a spare cigarette lighter they are willing to sell please? Just the actual push-in part.

I keep forgetting mine never came with one and it’s probably the only thing I’m missing. Need to complete the area!

Many thanks.

Re: 1.7 480

Ad: No rust MOT: All underbody has slight corrosion. :? It's recorded as a 1.7 S. Like Jeff says, that mileage history is questionable unless plenty of proof to back it up. Yes, it Looks lovely from the limited images (as most do) and a lovely colour too but £3,500.... If you have £3,500 to spend, I...

Re: Very Very clean one on C&C, 21k miles

Now moved off C&C and on to the the 'Bay.

Minus the plate but with MOT and a few better pictures.

Quite a clean and consistent MOT history.

And down from £6.5 to £4.5k.

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Could the noises be that the vent holes are blocked so that the pressure can't balance easily and is causing it to sing like this? Does the noise stop when you take the fuel cap off? Thanks James. What vent is this we're talking about? (sorry!) I'll take out the cap the next time it does it and see...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Excellent news with the ABS... but sorry about the bank balance. Least it matches mine! :) As James says, low fuel can make a pump louder as the tank becomes an echo chamber. I think the 480 pump (old and new tank types) both have a gauze sock. Different car, but the tank gauze of another headache ...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Glad you have him back. Is that noise from the fuel pump only there when it is very low on fuel? I've had quite vocal ones in the pastwith pumps on nearly dry tanks. The fuel actually cools it so probably dont like being near empty all the time It started in a very wet day/flooding when I went to s...

Looking good and, yes, such a nice colour. You'll have plenty of pampering time to get it ship-shape before it meets its new friends. :D Look forward to seeing the progress.

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

He is home! :hopping: I, however, have 0.49p left in my bank at present after this little six month holiday he's just taken. So, the pressure switch was the ABS issue, I'm told. It's had two new rear callipers and all brakes off and cleaned/checked. Bit of a service: New fuel filter, oil filter and ...

I'd love to but In my infinite wisdom I took a weekend job. :( Hopefully I'll be able to get holiday (not allowed to book any until probation is up at the end of Jan though...). If not, I finish at 3pm so could always pop over for the Saturday evening food. If it's actually on the road/I don't sell ...

Well done on all the effort and hard work you put in for PUD to keep going. It's always the simple things forgotten. I'd do that! Call out the engineer for a broken laser machine. Engineer drives 2.5 hours from Manchester. Depresseses the emergency stop button..... :tomato: Lesson learned. Nice to k...
