vc601 radio, strange connections
Finally got round to putting my CD player in at the weekend. I got myself an adapter lead specially for the 480. I took the Volvo VC601 tape/radio out, to be confronted with a connection that looked nothing like the one I bought.
Went round to the local Halfords, and got their fitter to take a look. He identifed it from its shape, got me the required part. It was designed for 1990's Fords and Vauxhalls! No mention of any Volvo whatsoever! Absolutely bizarre.
Is this a well known weirdness, or am I missing something?

That's just madness! It's taught me to have a good look at what is actually there, rather than what should be there.
Still, I now have a spare AUTOLEADS-PC2-43-4 ISO wiring harness. If any one needs one, its yours for the cost of postage.

@JohnTurbo: your 480 probably had the VOLVO-ISO adapter already installed by a previous owner I suspect.
@everyone: what's this:

Does this mean you can hook any audio-device to the CD-changer (DIN) port on the back of a Volvo radio??

Re: vc601 radio, strange connections
I'm searching google for an answer and got directed back to the forum!! I want to fit a VC602 back into an 87 ES but the loom I've got doesn't seem to be the right one. I get the picture about Halfords identifying the correct one as being from 1990's Vauxhalls or fords but I could do with knowing exactly which one it is that I need. Can anyone please advise?? Even a picture would be good if someone wouldn't mind pulling their cd player out and getting a shot of the connections. Cheers

Got the correct harness (special order from Halfrauds) and it turns out that it's the same as from the 300 series car. If only I'd known that before!!
