Photo update from Team Volvo HQ

Post by chris1roll » Fri Aug 25, 2006 7:33 pm

Hi everyone, thought you lot might be interested in the progress back at Team Volvo HQ, I hope Richard doesn't mind me posting these ahead of him, but I just got my bluetooth dongle through the post so had to have a play.
Work has been sporadic, with Richard working 90 hour weeks, and to be honest he and Edd have done 99.999% of the work as I have been a little out of sorts recently.
Anyway, this is about the third time the engine has been in, due to having to modify the engine mount to space teh engine up by 20mm so that the saab T3 clears the anti roll bar by a hairs breadth!

Respect to you guys!

Check out the gearbox!! The supercharger is massive looking from a Eaton E45?

How are you piping the low mount IC? It dont like enough room unless you take it under the frame,

Good going all round!

Didn't realise pics from a camera phone would display so big......

Anyway, gearbox is just the standard M59 at the mo, I believe Richard is planning on getting one rebuilt stonger at a later date (probably sonner once the engines running!) There just happens to be a well respected gearbox place a few miles away.

Pipng, I don't think anyone knows yet! Its going to be very very tight from what I can see.

Chris

I also have a video on teh phone of the supercharger on the bench with a drill running it, but its in 3gp format and doesn't appear to want to bluetooth across, any ideas?

It's tight with just my 50mm samco from the turbo to IC,

with a bloody SC yeah tight tight comes to mind.

your phone manager should just copy those files and people can d/l some s/w for it.

Looking good guys. To everyone on the forum...the supercharger is SO beautiful in real life - So big and shiny and the turbo is bloody massive!

Have you figured out how the supercharger is going to be bypassed by the turbo yet? Will have to get a closer look when I get my Cambelt done. The bloody tensioners have yet to arrive as there was a postage mix up. Give me a PM when the workshop is empty and your ready for me to come up!

Keep up the good work :hopping:

OMG thats awesome the supercharger looks massive.

Is it going to use both intercooler (the original one and the lower stainless jobby)?

Looks like a giant killer!

Any ideas when its gonna be running?
